Terri had flown from England to help plan her cousin's wedding, but paying for a New York hotel room was like giving blood But she had an alternative: the new in-laws were offering lodging.Of course, the Argeneaus were a certifiably odd bunch. There was the sometimes chipper, sometimes brooding Lucern ? a ?vampire romance? writer. There was the wacky stage actor, Vincent....more

I'm giving this book two stars, because while it was good, it was not one of the best things I've ever read. It didn't get interesting for me until after the first couple hundred pages. And, that being said, it only seemed to get more interesting because they had sex and finally things were starting to get exciting. I didn't really like everything that happened in the last couple chapters; it kinda pissed me off. I just didn't like this book as much as I was expecting to. When I read the back of...more

Never read about so many problems for a wedding. Sheesh!
This was a good read. Lots of trouble for Bastian and Terri. Love the conflict.
I'm curious to see if Vincent will now find a mate.
Looking forward to the next one.

Kate's (from previous book Single White Vampire) cousin and best friend Terri is flying into town to help out with Kates wedding. Kate and Lucern ask Lucerns brother Bastien to put Terri up in the penthouse owned by the family and suddenly Terri finds her self stranded with Bastien and his unplanned house guests: His cousin Vincent and Kate's co-editor Chris when Kate is assigned to an out of town writing conference.

A lot of laugh out loud scenes in the book almost from the very begin...more

This is the second of Lynsay Sands's books that I've read, 'The Perfect Wife' being the first, and my rating for this one is the same as the one I gave the other one: Disappointing.

The female leads in both of these books had no dimension and were silly beyond compare. Terri was not credible as a university professor, unless she is one of those genius-in-their-professional-expertise/not-very-bright-in-the-real-world types. Her dialogue, her thoughts, everything about her was juvenile...more

This book revolves around a romance between Bastien Argeneau and Terri (insert forgotten last name here--the best man and maid of honor in Lucern (Bastien's brother) and Kate's (Terri's best friend) wedding. Upon her unexpected early arrival, Terri is pushed on Bastien who is forced to give her room and board in his penthouse (not that it was any inconvenience), and they have an immediate attraction to one another.

I found the story quite funny, especially with Vincent's (another Arg...more

Fast paced and brilliant, the story focuses upon the vampire character Bastian and the mortal character Terri and how their relationship develop with some unusual twists and turns. To start with Bastian's cousin in the story, Vincent, I wanted to punch him and knock his fangs out, but as the story goes on you discover his hidden depths and good qualities and he actually turns out to be a nice character. A little stranger then most, but still nice.

I felt so sorry for Bastian, he had e...more

Read this one as I knew it would be a quickie.

I have to say it felt like a lot of filler. A LOT. Not the plots or chapters, but the paragraphs themselves. She would say a sentence then practically repeat the same thing in the next sentence, just worded ever so slightly different.

The plot is standard romance fluff. Nothing special there. The friend/coworker of Kate was used as comic relief, and added tension. I feel he was flogged needlessly just to give the main character...more

TALL,DARK AND MEDIOCRE!!!
The fourth book in the Argeneau series is one fun ride. While not being able to live up to the genius that is Single White Vampire, the book is still able to capture your attention and manages to introduce some fun characters. Plus you get tabs on old characters and that in it self is just awesome. Recap this series is about a family of Canadian vampires and their search for love.

Bastien is the second oldest of Argeneau children and the most take charge...more

In this installment, Lucern and Kate are planning their wedding. Kate's best friend/cousin, Terri, drops in (unannounce) two weeks early in order to help plan. Because Kate's apartment is so small, she asks Bastien if Terri can stay at the family penthouse with him. He reluctantly agrees and the chaos ensues.

Lucern and Kate have to unexpectedly attend a conference for Kate's co-worker Chris after he is injured when a toilet falls through the ceiling of his apartment. Chris is dro...more

Not finished yet, but it's really bugging me the way they are treating Chris, the editor w/ the broken leg. Hate to tell you, Bastien, but being cruel to someone who is hurt and helpless is NOT a turn on.

Finished. This is the third of the three Argeneau books I had bought years ago. I don't think I'll look beyond these. The men really aren't attractive personality wise, Entienne being the nicest of the three brothers.

1) I don't want someone into me to the extent that he ...more

This book is the 4th in the Argeneau family series by Lynsay Sands.

Bastien runs the Argeneau family business and has not had a relationship or a day off work in years. His last relationship ended badly after he told his love about who and what he was.

Terri, a cousin to Lucern's fiance Kate has flown in 2 weeks before the nuptuals, for Kate and Lucern to help with any last minute details but Kate unexpectantly has to go to Calfornia for work so leaves Terri in Bastien's capabl...more

Really all my feelings on this book can be summed up in one large groan. I had been looking forward to reading about Bastien too. Bastien really could've been an interesting character, but Sands made him out to be a soft snuggle bunny with fangs. And Terri was unbelievably sweet. She has no backbone, except for once in the story and that didn't last too long. I have a very strong feeling that if I hadn't been familiar with the characters I would've given up on this book long before hitting page ...more

I just stumbled across this book at the grocery store and it looked decent. I didn't realize it was a part of a series nor the fourth book. The good thing is that you can't tell that you're in the middle of a series. This book is written as if it is its own.

As for a paranormal romance book, it's mediocre. The characters are somewhat entertaining but I never really felt a connection to any of them. The plot is basic and at times I wanted to speed read to the next interesting event. The ...more

Okay this book was awesome! I really really liked this one.. It was hilarious, sweet, etc... I love the Argeneau series anyway. The 1st 3 books were great. This one was even better. The chemistry with Bastien and Terri was "off the chain" The love scenes were waaaay hotter than the 1st 3 books. But what I really loved about this one, and it was a surprising step in a new direction, was that there was no villian in this one to threaten the lead characters @ all! And it was still very in...more

Bastien has been single for a quiet long time since he's been very hectic by running the business of his companies. Terri, Kate's cousin, best friend & made of honor, flew from London to attend the wedding, she has no place to stay in, so she arranged with Bastien to take her to his place since it's really huge.. many crisis occur, that Vincent will stay there, Kate's co-worker Chris, breaks his leg and his apartment got screwed so he also stay's at Bastien. Bastien realizes that he has to enter...more

I finished this one quickly and while I enjoyed parts of it, I was disappointed by the lack of character growth, the telling instead of showing, and the complete lack of tension. The lack of tension is what got to me because every time a serious problem showed up (needing to pick new flowers for someone else's wedding, for example) the issue was resolved within pages of being brought up in the first place. There were many opportunities for the story to gain depth but they were never taken and th...more

Even though the book is as humorous as the previous books, somehow it did not grab me as much with the audiobook reread. I kept on loosing my thoughts while listening and could not get into the world. It's probably because the main characters lack the quirkiness and the snark the previous book's characters had. It is still a fun book just not my favorite in the series. I think I am going to skip some books and look for the audiobook version of the book about a woman vampire who is accepted by...more

One and a half.

This book was tedious - bored the pants off me but for some reason I felt compelled to finish it.

Lots of boring detail about nothing in particular. I reached my limit when Sands felt it necessary to explain how Terri went to the toilet.

Plenty of unnecessary dialogue that went nowhere, and supposed comedy that just fell flat for me and halted the story when actually it had a chance to go somewhere - as I've said previously about Sands' humour, I...more

Read for the "Ich lese Lyx-Challenge". Therefore I'm going to write the main review in German and only post a little mini-review in English.

Both, Bastien and Terri, are likeable characters and had their own history. Unfortunately they lessened the worth of their former relationships by stating that those weren’t their meant-to-be-partners and that what they felt back then wasn’t love. I thought it was utter bullshit, although I see how that made the story less complicated....more

Well, I'm so glad I kept on reading following my disappointment of the first book. This series is getting so much better, and this is probably my favourite so far. I so love Bastian, what an absolute gentleman, taking things slow with Terri, making sure she is comfortable and happy, not rushing things and for a nice pleasant change not biting her at every opportunity he got! Where can I get one of these fantastic guys? Do they even exist? LOL! Also it was nice for a change to hear Terri is a n...more

When his father died Bastien took over as head of the family company, Argeneau Enterprises. His whole life revolves around work, and the things he does to ensure his kinds safety. Work is his life, so the last thing he ever imagined happening was his sudden lack of interest the second Terri makes an appearance. He is instantly attracted to her, and when Bastien learns that she is his life-mate he does everything he can to keep her where she is - except tell the truth that is...more

I'm a bit disappointed! I really like Bastien, and I was hoping his book would be so sexy and he would get the perfect heroine to shake him up! But that's not exactly how I feel after reading this book.

First of all, I felt a lack of the humor that was always present in the past books in this series. I don't think I can recall one moment where I was really laughing like in Single White Vampire. Yes, there's some moments you could consider funny, but it wasn't the same.

In this 4th offering from Lynsay Sands, she finally got all the elements together and working for her. Middle brother, Bastien Argeneau is the best man of his eldest brother, Lucern's wedding. (He's the most popular best man, having been the best man at his younger brother's wedding as well, I wonder who he'll pick to be his best man?) Anyway, when Terri, the maid of honor announced she's arriving 2 weeks early, Kate, his soon to be sister in law volunteers to let her stay with Bastien instea...more

Recommends it for: Readers of the Argeneau Vampire Series
This book is just ok. It's kind of a letdown after some of the other Lynsay Sands' books. It really needed an editor. It's too long and drags on in parts, but in other parts it needed to be more detailed and longer. There isn't a mystery or whodoneit in this book like there is in some of the others. It's Ms. Sands' third book in this series about the Argeneau vampires. It deals with Bastien and Terri. I had read some of the other books in the series further into it, so I knew who both characters...more

This series is definitely starting to get better. It's still nowhere near being my favorite, but it's cute. I do wish there were some meatier plots in them, but they get a little better with each one. I spent most of the book wondering what was going on with Chris and the weird mojo he had going on, but it was never really addressed. I mean, he had some serious bad luck, but it was never really given any explanation. Terri and Bastien are both nice, sweet characters, but nothing very memorabl...more

Bastien and Terri are an amorous couple that has piqued my interest from the beginning. Bastien could be any girl's perfect guy while Terri is a good role model for girls reading the books. She has been through heartache and handles emotional turmoil like any normal girl would. Bastien is the man who will always be there and respects not only a woman's body but her mind as well. I admire their love and his daring especially. ;) Perfect love story for any girl to read.

Just finished it. I wanted to give it a higher rating - it had the potential to be a lot more interesting - but it unfortunately diffused the tension in every single situation to the point of boredom. If the main characters were uncertain, one would say "I am uncertain about.." and that was it. The final scenes were especially disorganized and made little sense and that whole link between Atlantis and vampirism (?!) made no sense. A strange focus on unimportant details (like rehashing ...more

Lots of exposition, not a lot of conflict, but it wasn't as stupid as most of the vamp books I've tried to read. Terri has flown in to help with her cousin's wedding, Lucern is a broody vampire asked to put her up for the week. They flirt, they shop. Really short on sexual tension, and isn't that the whole purpose of a vamp book? and no plot at all. conflict, she thinks he's sick, she can't do that again, she doesn't bother to ask a simple question. BLech.

I was born in 1142 which is why my first love is historicals. I’ll let you guess why I love stories of immortals…er…well, vampires to you people. When I first started writing the family history, everyone was up in arms, afraid I was revealing too much, but I explained they were being published as fiction and I wouldn’t use real names. Of course, that was before I found I just couldn’t write the st...more
