The Elfin Brood is a pretty obscure novel. I only happened upon it from searching up “elf” here on Goodreads. The corny synopsis and even cornier title made me curious; I just had to know how bad this book would be. Did it live up to my low expectations? Not quite. In fact, it pleasantly surprised me.

Though this book is far from anything groundbreaking or original, it does hold up enough to be interesting. Orville J. Wanzer takes some careful care into explaining his Elf culture in detail. As
