Ronan Sinclare and his brother, Cavan, were captured and tortured by the barbarian Mordrac and even tortured by his daughter, Carissa. Cavan managed to escape, but Ronan remained and endured even more torture from Carissa. His only relief was from the slave, Hope, who tended his wounds, including his eyes that were swollen shut, preventing him from being able to see her. After being sold to mercenaries by Carissa, Ronan vowed revenge on her, both for his own torture and for his beloved Hope's mu ...more

I loved this story so so sooooo much!! More than both Artair's and Lachlan's story but not as much as the first one ;) a great ending to the series :) the brothers uniting with the women they love and even their mother having found a new one :) captivating stories.. loved how those two struggled to get where they are at the end!!

A beautiful read :)
I am glad that I read this book after Return of the Rogue. This book had a much deeper background story, and its characters were more developed. Although still a tad predictable, I liked how the author dealt with the existing conflict that existed between the 2 main characters.
From the first book I kinda anticipate this book most! When I get a glimpse of what Carissa do...I know Ronan will be with her! And Donna Fletcher didn't fail me in this book. I really love how Carissa stand on her behalf then fall into passion. I love how Ronan never forget his desire to revenge but finally realize Carissa is the one he love. The story is flowing and make sense for me. Except the end...when Addie said she was familiar with Carissa I know Ms Fletcher will make a twist. For me, M ...more
Scotland is one of my favorite places. This was an easy read and I did enjoy it. I would have preferred to have more in the way of Scottish history at the time this took place. There was a wee bit of sex in it, not overly much, but some might find it too much.

While it was a very predictable book in many ways, I still found that this was one of my favorites of the series.

I keep on re-reading this book. I love how there's so much depth to the characters, especially Carissa.

a good fourth story

I have enjoyed this series greatly. The brothers and their wives are a varied mix. It would be great fun to be at the dinner table with them. They share great love and humor. They complement each other.

This story had several twists and turns which made it interesting. However, I don't feel like it really picked up where book 3 left off. Nor did it mesh well with other details in book 3. However, I'd give it 4.5 stars if that were an option.

you have to read to understand, it's sexy and romantic...flawless
I loved cavan n ronan the most..!
I started the book with great enthusiasm, of course. All the raving reviews. I finished the book feeling rather disappointed. it is not a bad book. But it is not the wonderful story I was led to believe.

The hero is not the typical alpha male you usually see in such books. He is of course a warrior but has a soft heart. He was tortured in the heroin's home by her father. She acted like a bitch to everyone, knowing that whenever she showed any tenderness toward anything or anybody, the object of

While better than book 3 about Lachlan, this book is supposed to be the penultimate of the series. This is the book where we learn what happened to Ronan... and discover the meaning to Behthane's riddle to the Sinclares about "find Carissa, daughter of the barbarian and you'll find Ronan". Except that, for the most part, the story is predictable from the 1st page. Instead of building up to the mysterious reasons why Ronan wouldn't return home, it practically bludgeons us from the firs

I have read the whole Sinclare brother series and although I really loved Honora and Cavan story I LOVED this one!!! I thought the story was really fun and interesting to follow and can I say I loved Clarissa as a character. She reminded me of myself and that made the story a little more entertaining, but I do have one question.....Can no one restrain from having sex? No wonder they had such large families in this time period. Once again Donna Fletcher gives a wonderful story.....can't wait to r ...more

We finally get to the story of the mysterious Ronan, the brother who was captured by barbarians (the history geek in me wonders who they were) and subsequently sold to mercenaries. For whatever reason, Ro, tho free to return to his clan for some time, has not done so.

Turns out he's on a mission: He's going to avenge the murder of his love, a slave who helped him in his captivity. The woman who killed her, Carissa, daughter of his captor, has been tough to track down, but he has finally done so.
I'm definitely in a happy-sad mood to finally have finished this series. How I wish there would be more! Although its good to finally see Ronan happy with love and family, I do think that the romantic development in this story was a bit confusing. The transition between good/bad and love/hate was a bit too abrupt that I had to back-read once or twice just to make sure I didn't miss anything. To my dismay, I didn't. I also expected an epilogue and similarly disappointed. However, the last parts o ...more
Really really good book! The best one out of the four. I was really looking forward to Ronan's story and it did not disappoint. Loved both Ronan and Carrisa's characters. Carrisa was very strong and capable and I loved everything about her as I did about Ronan.
Being Human
It has a potential to be a four star read solely based on 2/3rd of the book, but it keeps on going. The story ended for me there and then. It was pointless to read further after that, so had to skip the rest.

We finally get the story of Ronan, the brother who was captured by barbarians (along with Cavan) and then sold to mercenaries. And we learn why he didn't immediately return to his family...Hope. I really liked Ronan but I felt that Carissa played things too close to the vest and put herself in needless jeopardy. I realize she had trust issues but she's trying to convince Ronan of her sincerity and honesty and yet she lies to him left and right.

All's well that ends well but for some reason this

A bit of a painful read at times, too many cliches, too many stupefying scenes where one has to suspend disbelief.
When I need a dose of historical highlands I turn to Donna Fletcher. This is the fourth and final in the Sinclare Brothers series and is the story of Ronan who is the youngest. It is a story of physical and emotional survival. Both the hero and heroine have had to endure extreme situations and this book connects the two. It is also a story of forgiveness and about action versus reaction.

Carissa is the most fleshed out and she is the star of this book. In fact, now that I have finished the series

The title of the book is corny but the story in it is not.
I thoroughly enjoyed it! I have read the first and the last book in this four book series and I think both of them are very good, given the genre.
