Five years ago Lizbeth had to deal with the sudden disappearance of her captain, and best friend, Acton. In the middle of space, surrounded by nothing but stars, he simply disappeared off the bridge. And that’s when she realized that she was in love with him. Now, finally, she’s located him. My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed:

It’s been five years since Acton, captain of the Instigator was kidnapped, but Lizbeth has never given up searching for him. Her persistence has paid off and she has finally located the man she has secretly loved. He’s living on a planet called Earth and all she has to do is convince the slimy acting captain of the Instigator to order Acton’s rescue.

Acton has no memory of his life as captain of the Instigator
The premise is great but once it takes a wrong turn, it goes downhill fast. Full review, with spoilers, here.

This is a sweet science fiction romance short story. Lizbeth and Acton's love for each other, although they've never confessed it, comes through clearly. After finally confessing their love, they are thrown into a situation demanding them to be separated for a century and must find a way to over turn this decision.

I enjoyed reading this story and believe it has potential to be expanded into a full-length novel.
