When little prepubescent me read this book, oh-so-many years ago, I thought it was the most epic thing ever written. Then, I promptly forgot the author and the title. I also, apparently, forgot the rather key fact that it was full of Magic Eye illustrations. It made my subsequent desire, fifteen or so years later, to find "that book where there was a mandrake root, and stars, and a kid had to fight trolls or something, and then he found a treasure and became a king," seem a little ridiculous.
Really loved this. Cool magical-knight-adventure story, illustrated with beautiful pictures and a magic eye 3-D scene on nearly every page. My kids got really good at it, but I found it fatiguing to go from reading to magic-eyeing, so I just stuck to the text and let them describe the hidden pictures to me.
