I received this book as a gift from my student, whose father, Jim, wrote the book. I laughed and I cried. I copied lines that moved me. This is an intense, honest look at what cancer does to an entire family. I have recommended this to students who've also learned so much from it. You don't have to have suffered from the ravages of this disease to learn, to identify with the struggles faced by Jim and his family, and to get to know an amazing man.

A good book. I originally lost my copy of it in a hotel in Tulsa, so I finished reading it while sitting on the floor in the aisle at Borders Book Store. I just HAD to finish it, so I did what had to do to finish it :).

Recommends it for: to anyone who has cancer or knows someone w/ cancer
My friend's book provides something few books about cancer touch upon-- the human emotional toll. Touching, humorous, gut-wrenching, hopeful. Jim tells it like it was during his own struggle and we appreciate it.
