I enjoyed the candid stories the wide variety of stars, bit players, managers, and other Cub personnel contributed to this collection. The book is chaptered by decade so it took awhile to get to the names I was more familiar with and grew up with. One downside is its outdatedness--published in 2002, it leaves an 8 year void personified by the bit on Andre Dawson claiming that when he goes into the Hall of Fame he most certainly will wear a Cubs cap. In BANKS TO SANDBERG, etc., veteran sports reporter Carrie Muskat publishes a large number of short statements from Cubs players, coaches and executives who she has covered during the last five decades. These statements seem not to be edited to any great degree and they are entertaining and enlightening. For me, the most interesting excerpts related to Buck O'Neil's time as a Cubs coach in the early 60s.

Any Cubs fan will enjoy this simple and fast book.
