Genevieve Boden is a witch and doesn’t care who knows. The townspeople’s fear of her keeps away those who have hurt her before—like the local men of authority. Besides, a life of exile deep in the woods of West Virginia is due punishment, she figures, for the part she played in her mother’s deat

What a pleasure to find a book in this genre with well developed characters, unique story lines, unexpected plot twists, and more.

It is my first Alisha Rai read, but it will definitely not be my last. This was a well written book, and is worthy of recognition. HIGHLY recommended!

I don’t really give a rat-fuck that there are some who think I ‘owe’ an explanation for my opinion. Nope, nada, and not sorry about it.

Sometimes I may add notes to explain what my opinions are based on, and sometimes I don’t. I do this for me, on my books, in my library and I don’t ‘owe’ any special snowfla

I loved this ebook. The heroine is full-figured and full of spunk. The hero is sexy and the dialogue intimate. The action scenes are appropriate and don't overtake the romantic elements. The humor was a welcome surprise and made the characters believable. I highly recommend this read to anyone wanting to curl up on a cold afternoon with a "hot" story.

I really liked this one. I loved the characters. They had more depth than a lot of the cookie-cutter romance I've been reading (and enjoying) lately. The plot was good, the sex was steamy, there wasn't as much angst or insecurity as I generally like with my heroines in my favored tropes (chubby, abused, plain) but I liked it on its own. This took a while to get going but once it did I enjoyed it.

The big bad secret that hung over Genevieve was annoying, she was clearly martyring herself for whatever reason and it just got a bit dull to read again and again how felt she was a terrible person who deserved her penance without getting the details.

The paranormal/witchy aspect played a really small part of the story- it really didn't impact the plot that much at all and it's all a bit vague an unexplained, I really like paranormal boo
For some reason I kept waiting for the guy to turn into a werewolf and felt a bit disappointed that he didn't, haha.

While the shooting mystery is just meh for me, I love both Alex and Genevieve and how their relationship progressed, especially Alex because he's so damn cute I adore him so much.

Meh. I was so bored while reading this book. The beginning was ok, but then the story lost its appeal.

Not my favorite of Ms. Rai's writing, though as always I appreciate her attention to the little details that make characters more complex and interesting rather than stereotype+one quirk. Unfortunately these character didn't quite hold my interest and the plot felt like it needed to be expanded into a book, rather than rushed into a novella like this.

Finished. Review tomorrow.

And here it finally is.

Let me just confess, i come from perpetually always sunny Nairobi, Kenya; so i came to realise i am a sucker for any romance book, where it's basically the love interests stranded in a snow storm trope kind of books, because i have never seen/been in snow and that fascinates me, then they'll be having sexy times together and of course that book will be on my shelf quick, fast and in a hurry.

So, that's my motivation for getting the book. But with

In Alisha Rai's latest release Cabin Fever, Genevieve has some special powers, she can read other people's auras and she can heal others. Pretty cool powers right! Well she doesn't think so. The guilt of her mother's death weighs over her and she feels as though she must live the life of solitude for her penance in her cabin in the woods of West Virginia. That is until handsome Alex is found on her porch one night half frozen to death and bleeding very badly. Not to mention he is unconscious. ...more

Witches, action and sex, oh my! Seriously, what more could you ask from an erotica?!

Genevieve is a witch who lives alone in the woods. She knows the townspeople fear her and she has a score to settle with the police, she likes that everyone fears her, it means that no one will bother her. That all changes when Alex comes knocking on her door with a gun shot wound and drifting in and out of consciousness. Who know's how long he's been crawling around the woods, and before a snow storm?

Now before you go and start judging why I read this book just let me explain. This book as a lot of...scenes in it and I'm a currently an up and coming writer who know gets squeamish when it's time to put the romantic parts in the book. I know my book needs some romance because I'm writing YA but I never knew how to write those parts so I just speed through it adding no emotion. Therefore I'm reading these so they wouldn't make me as squeamish. I gave it a 5 star because of this ...more

It was a very good read and was pleasantly surprised with the story. It had a "touch of magic", but wasn't what I would label as "usual type of paranormal book". The hero is an ex-NYC cop who ends up being the police chief of a tiny town in WV. The heroine is a "witch" who lives like a hermit deep in the woods away from town. I enjoyed the "instant"attraction and how their personal story unfolds. A great romance read with a bit of spice and intrigue thrown in that held my interest until the end. ...more

Not so great writing, average story yet not enough background information. The majority of what we learn is through dialogue rather than the inner monologues. And what we did learn was just to move the story along. I almost didn't finish it, but at 70% odd done I figured what the hell. Just finish it.

I Didn't particularly care for the characters either. They were just there. I couldn't connect with them nor did I think they were fleshed out enough.

Just wasn't very satisfying.
Genevieve lives alone in the woods and finds Alex, a police officer, injured on her door step. She takes care of him for a few days, they are attracted to each other, they share their past and then have sex. This was sweet and sexy, two lonely people finding each other. I could feel the emotional connection between them and believed their HEA.

4.5 stars! Fabulous, sweet, hot story! The chemistry between the H and h was wicked hot and they complemented each other perfectly. The unknown gunman adds some suspense to the mix, making for a story that is well-paced and well-rounced.

Just one thing... Puerto Ricans have citizenship since they are born, so the "reason" to named his brother Lincoln doesn't make any sense.I know this because I am one.
That being said, I luv the book! is soo heart warming and the plot was very dark but also very light. <3 <3
Fast, fun, flirty. For some reason I thought there were shifters involved, but the only paranormal aspect is that the heroine is a witch.
