This book is a detailed, comprehensive guide to formatting books for Kindle. It presents a few different approaches, depending what you start with and what your skills are.

Although now a bit out of date, due to changes in Amazon's Kindle publishing ecosystem since its release, this book still serves as an excellent guide to properly formatting and publishing a Kindle ebook. I used Kindle Formatting as my guidebook for doing just that with a couple of short stories. I came to the books having some familiarity with HTML and MS-Word styles, but I think the book explains these well enough to get a total beginner started. anyone considering publishing their book on the Kindle
This book is my constant companion as I do my own manuscript preparation for the Kindle. I have yet to come across anything that this little book doesn't address. Proof will be in the pudding when I upload and review my book, but I don't think I will be disappointed. If you are going to put your book on the Kindle, this book is mandatory. Even if you don't do the work yourself, you will understand what your conversion partner is doing and what you are paying for.

Going DIY first for my National Poetry Month ebook project, Tallent's guide is a very helpful resource. Kept it open in Kindle for PC while creating the ebook in Word and MobiPocket, and the only part that was a little unclear was how/where to create the TOC.NCX file.

Worth it's weight in gold. And that's about how much I've made formatting e-books based on the advice in this book.

When I originally bought this book from the Amazon Kindle store, I thought I had a gem. Unfortunately, although well detailed, it was such a dud, that, for a little while, I stopped reading it. However, I just finished the remainder of this book. It was boring me thouh. Some HTML coding experience requested though for easier understanding of this book.
This is a very useful book. I never really understood html, but this book is teaching me to think about it in a very systematic, organized manner.
