I picked out this book Obsession Everlasting written by Lisa Phillips thru a Paranormal Book Forum on Amazon. Loving all things paranormal I ordered it as I have been very happy with the books and new authors that have been mentioned on this site..Again this did not dissappoint.

I will try and talk about the story without giving up spoilers!!!

Simon an aged Vampyre becomes enchanted by a "mortal" Fallyn Mitchell. His desire to win her is the crux of this story along with their fiery personalitie

I am mixed on this one. There were parts of the book that I really enjoyed because they were unpredictable but other parts followed the vamp script to the letter, rich vamp and poor family-less girl. I am going with three stars because I did read it nonstop to see how it would end. I wasn't even sure the story would wrap. I was reading on the Kindle and the percentage of the story left by the time it should have been all over was not much. I expected a rushed finish and it was but it was plausab ...more

Finished last night, enjoyed the story. But the writing style got to me. Transitions were not handled well and some of the dialog was rushed, and example:

"When was the last time any of you made another? That what I thought" She chugged the rest of the cognac, wincing as she handed the snifter back to Tristan.

To me the chugging the cognac sentence should have been directly after the question. To give a sort of pregnant pause. I am not normally so picky with such things, but I found it slowed down

I got it from goodreads for free :) The story was pretty good but choppy in some areas. I did have to go back and reread parts of it. All in all I think the story was cute, witty, charming, and had a cheesy ending. I would reread it again and I think this author will eventually be compared to authors like Sherrilyn Kenyon and Rachelle mead.

Lisa Phillips began writing at age nine, after reading The Secret Garden. Today she is a multi-published author of paranormal and contemporary romance, as well as mainstream women's fiction and nonfiction humor.
