Angkor - Celestial Cities of the Khmer Empire is an excellent overview of the history and culture of the Khmer Kingdom. Primarily, it guides the reader through the way of life of the people in the different classes, and its cultural, religious, and economic interactions with the other civilisations and countries in the region, such as the Thais, Mongols, and Chinese.
