Maroo of the winter caves is about a girl who lives with her family of Eskimos and travels to new places every season. In this book maroo experiences new places and the love of her family. In this story maroo and her family run into obstacles and dodge snowstorms, wild animals, and hunger to get to the place of her dreams for spring.

I think I can connect to maroo the most because of her love for travel and to see new places. I can also connect to her desire for adventure and how she More...

Honestly, teachers think our reading capability is so much smaller then it really is. I don't really remember this book, but I know there were parts that were pretty good. This isn't my type of story and I never would have chosen it on my own, but overall I don't think it was bad. But not incredibly good.

Good adventure book for 5/6 students. It would be easy to write a response to literature on it too.

I'll get the kid's opinions any day now.....

Read it along with my 4th-grader. It was a well-written piece of fictionalized history with enough action to keep the 9-year-old interested.

This book really has a slow start and was one of the books in 6th grade which was mandatory and was dreadful to read. Boring plot.

I'm reading this book with my social studies class. It's a bit difficult for them, but they are enjoying it. We'll finish this week.

This was a good book, but the beginning was slow... If you like nature and survival books, this is for you. This wasn't really my kind of book, we read it in school and I wasn't impressed with it, but then it got better and the end is the best part! You don't have to die to read this, but it is a good book.

This was a book that I was to read for my English class in the 6th grade. It was enjoyable but nothing i'm too intereseted in. It gave you something to see how life might have been back in the days of the Neanderthals, Cromagnons, or whatever they're called. It's cute thats all I got to say.
