Such a wonderful series of books.

It was really interesting re-reading this book because one forgets so many details in the first reading. Mma Precious Ramotswe is 35 when this book opens. Another fact that is mentioned, & I think ACTUALLY FORGOTTEN BY THE AUTHOR in subsequent books, is that Mma Makutsi was the widow of a schoolteacher.

I liked this book well enough. The main character was delightful, and fun, and sounded like a woman I would like to know more about. But, I also felt like just about everything there was to know about this woman was in this book, so I'm not sure how a series can be sustained.

This book read more like short stories than a regular novel. Not that there's anything wrong with short stories, but for some reason this genre hasn't grabbed my soul like the novel has. I don't know if I'll read anymore in
