In his book, ''Numbers Up'', first time author Kevin Clark brings to the teens/young adult audience a crime story full of mathematical and science concepts weaved into the storyline.

The plot was far-fetched and even ridiculous at times. All the main plot points were explained plainly by the characters, not leaving anything for the reader to work out and the conclusion all played out rather too smoothly, without much drama. I didn't particularly like any of the characters. Paul could be a sexist pig at times and I couldn't understand his attraction to Julia at all, it seemed very unprofessional, especially with him making efforts to appear professional all the time.
