This is a very intimate account of one extraordinary family, a loving couple and a brave mom, Tracy, who writes to her unborn child growing in her body. Reading Tracy’s letters to Darcy confirmed to me that God knows exactly what each one of us is equipped to do—even though we may not feel ready for the task at hand. He knew the parents that would embrace and love Darcy for her short time here on earth.

A beautiful account which began as one woman's blog to her unborn daughter who was diagnosed early on in her pregnancy with trisomy 18. These heartfelt letters trace the power of God's love and the strength that faith gives us in the face of extreme adversity.
There could be nothing more difficult than losing a child, but Ramos' perspective and deep faith gives the reader belief that moving forward is possible when the right attitude exists. Ramos chose life for her daughter, remaini More...

Excuse me while I finish bawling my eyes out...
Esmé's mommy here, glad that everyone is out boating right now so no one has to witness the tears.
This is a true story. It started out as a blog and is now being published as a book by Tyndale. As I've mentioned before, it seems we're drawn to blogs that deal with tragedy. And for me, it's that desire for a happy ending that keeps me reading. So this book had me reading all the way in one sitting.

I read this little hardcover book in one sitting. Once I started it, I could not put it down. In fact, I felt compelled to finish it.
I have never met Tracy Ramos but being a mother myself, I felt her heart and emotions as they spilled out on the pages of this book. I appreciated Tracy's honesty and transparency through one of the most horrific ordeals of her lifetime.
I found it very fitting that this tiny, delicate book, was in many ways reminiscent o More...

If you read this book by Tracy Ramos, you better have tissues handy. This book is compiled of letters dedicated to Tracy's unborn child. Almost everyday, Tracy would write something to her unborn daughter, Darcy, who was diagnosed with a fatal disease. Tracy writes of handing her struggles over to God, and fully trusting Him with Darcy's life.
This book also tells of the power of prayer, how one unborn child can touch the lives of so many people-family, friends, and strangers. It's a More...

Letters to Darcy by Tracy Ramos is a heart-breaking yet hopeful look at the life and death of a child. Tracy and Jason Ramos had made the decision to stop having children after their sixth, so when she unexpectedly became pregnant, the couple felt a mix of joy and worry. That worry became fear when in the fourth month of pregnancy the baby girl, Darcy, was diagnosed with trisomy 18, a genetic disease that made her "incompatible with life." Tracy fought the doctors who wanted her More...

What a special book this is. I read this with half smiles half tears in my eyes while holding my sleeping five month old daughter. I cannot image the range of emotions that Tracy and her family had to endure. During the first half of my pregnancy I was told that there was a large chance of a chromosomal abnormality only to be told later that was a mistake and a misread ultrasound. I spent the last third of my pregnancy with gestational diabetes and being told that a million things could be wron

This book was heart wrenching but at the same time inspiring. I am pro-life but have never been faced with this difficult of a situation - to carry a baby to term knowing she would live only a short time. Tracy was not afraid to blog about the good, the bad or the ugly - she was very open in sharing her feelings (joy, sadness, anger, etc). My prayers go out to the Ramos family as I'm sure they still struggle over the loss of their precious little girl. Be sure to have a box of tissues nearby whe
