Some really gorgeous pieces in here! The tuck-stitch wrap is to die for! I just wished they were put together with less expensive yarn. One of the pieces I priced out at $250 (10 skeins at $25 a pop - I may as well just go to Nieman's). On the flip side, there is a wrap made with nothing but scrap yarn that is fun and fabulous. p97, emphasis mine: "Designer Pierrot credits the fabulously feminine styles his mother once wore as inspiration for his strict-but-sexy garments".

There is only one design in here I'll be photocopying out of the book, the one on the cover. All others are ugly to hideous, ridiculous, or, if appealing (most of the lace shawls are indeed very pretty), look impossible to knit, requiring degrees of expertise, patience, and wealth I expect never to have.

Vogue Knitting Shawls is a beautiful book. If you are not a Vogue Knitting Magazine subscriber, then this is a must have book. I loved all the lace weight shawls and I am going to try to knit the Tuck knit wrap with some of my Habu Textile yarns.
I love the patterns in this book. I usually loathe reading and following knitting charts, but the instructions in the book are easily explained and the ending will definitely be worth the chart-reading.
Nice, very nice book with projects of interest to me. Also guidelines for what level of expertise is needed to finnish.
Some nice shawl patterns, but nothing super exciting.
