If you have seen some of Hepburn's work and want to learn more about her life behind the scenes, check out this book. Hepburn was an incredible woman and her relationship with Tracy is fascinating. The two of them interacted with the greatest stars of the time. The book is filled with a million anecdotes that you can use to drive your friends and family crazy. I am not sure I have a better understanding of either Katherine Hepburn or Spencer Tracy.
Love is different things to different people.
Views and opinion are always different on what constitutes love.
I don't get the affair that went on between these two at all.
Katherine Hepburn was apparently very devoted to Spencer Tracy.
So much so that each time he went on a drunken rampage
She was there to quietly clean him and the situation up.
Is that love?

I have long been a fan of the Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn movies...both made together and separately. This book describes the career choices they made during their 27-year-long love affair, and how those choices impacted each other. Theirs was a love affair most people only can dream about. my favorite genre in books are new and old classic, fantasy and Biographies.. and I read almost only bios about old movie stars and this one was about the Amazing Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy and their remarkable love affair that lasted 26 years.. I didn't want to stop reading for a second it was by far one of the best books I have ever read.

Words can not express the emotion I felt reading this book. I could not stop crying at the end. I have always admired Katharine Hepburn and even more so now. "She was merely the latest in a long line of tough, morally courageous women who made sacrifices for the far weaker men they loved...He needed her and she needed him to need her."

This book was a fascinating look at the 27 year love affair between Spencer Tracy and Kathryn Hepburn. It dispells a lot of myths about their affair and is a very moving story of two very difficult people and their struggle to remain true to themselves while trying not to hurt anyone else. They made fascinating choices for the times in which they lived.
This book was well done and really gave a background on both Hepburns and Tracy's lives - but Spencer Tracy was a dog and Katherine Hepburn must have had her own issues to tolerate his garbage for so many years!
I love Katherine Hepburn, but this was a little slow for me. My favorite Hepburn quote: "If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married."

This was a far more detailed biography of Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy than I had previously read and I thoroughly enjoyed it especially since I have enjoyed all their old movies.
A bit sappy and fawning, but still a fascinating look at one of Hollywood's most famous couples. And man, Spencer Tracey had issues, yo.
Loved this book. Very interesting on the love story of Hepburn & Tracy.
I liked this a lot. I have a new appreciation for Spencer Tracy.

I love the old Hollywood actors and their stories.

Just another silly step in my full on Katherine Hepburn obsession.
A beautiful and honest look at the relationship of these two talented people.
A rather ordinary biography but it did give me some insight into Spencer Tracy's unpleasant personality and Katharine Hepburn's total devotion to him.
This one was a slow start but picked up once it got into the relationship between Tracy and Hepburn. It was a dream shatterer for me though. I always thought they had this ideal relationship. Boy, was I wrong! They were as normal as everybody else. Lots of Hollywood gossip in this book too!
Great love story of Hepburn and Tracy. Obvious that three people (Hepburn, Tracy, Mrs. Tracy) were trying not to hurt one another while accepting the fact that Tracy and Hepburn were true soulmates.
"There was something exceptionally sweet about it. Though they were extremely sophisticated people, he was like a little boy with her and she was like a little girl with him" -George Cukor in the book.
I'm almost embarrassed to admit I read this -- the way I'm embarrassed when someone catches me looking at People magazine. Gossipy fun, though. (And yes, a pleasurable read.)
A beautiful book about the relationship between Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. I learned a lot about them I didn't know and it really shows how devoted they were to each other.
Lots of facts and anecdotes, but I still have no idea why a skinny prude WASP and a violent Catholic drunk hooked up to form the most fascinating couple in film history.
