Published in 2010, this book is already a bit dated for the modern job-seeker. The forthcoming 2012 edition, which replaces a discussion of MySpace with Google+, might be more relevant. I've been aware already of how my LinkedIn & twitter acc'ts (& to a lesser degree Facebook) are key elements of my job hunt. But this book is further demonstrating the many ways LinkedIn can help in developing a professional online presence, job hunting, career development, pursuing business leads/contacts, etc.

Not exactly what I was looking for right now, but this book definitely had a lot of good information. I will most likely take another look at it a little further down the road.

The LinkedIn section was surprisingly useful; the other parts not so much. I already got a lead at NPR thanks to the stuff I learned, so the book proved its worth.
Laurie
I just wanted to learn a bit about LinkedIn. Helpful.

I have never ever found a job through online job boards. I however, have never tried finding a job through online social networking. All the jobs that I have ever had have been from face-to-face networking and contacts. I am willing to try to LinkedIn and other social networks to see what type of opportunities are out there. Wish me luck!!!
