Recommends it for: travelers and people who would consider adopting children
I hadn't read poetry in a long time. This poetry is beautiful and actually about something. The writer lives a diplomat's life in the Philippines and then adopts three Korean children. The poems are beautiful but not sentimental about the poverty that surrounds her. My favorite of the poems is called "Refugee."

Hooray for the $1 rack at Brookline Booksmith!
