His Eyes is a quick, sweet, heartwarming read which I devoured in one sitting.

Amy is a very likable character as she takes on a job most girls her age would immediately turn down as soon as they realized the guy they would be babysitting was the same age & blind. At first the job is a way for her to rake in the money to help pay for her college tuition .The more time she spends with Tristan she realizes that its becoming less like a babysitting job and more like hanging out with a friend who...more

I really liked His Eyes by Renee Carter This book definietely put a smile on my dial :) I was really looking forward to how the author would work with the great ideas that she had come upwith and I wasn't at all dissappointed. Although I think there may be parts which could be better or that there are scenes that could have worked with the story it wasn't my book to write. His eyes gaeve me the break I needed from other romances as i've been reading all these soppy love stories about love at...more

this book was pure sweetness, not the artificial kind like Splenda, but more like natural- straight out of a cane- brown sugar.

Despite of the fact that there was so much tragedy in Tristan's life, loosing his sight, his father and his girlfriend,
I never ever doubt he will make it through, he was such a good character! everything about him was described perfectly, I felt like I really know him,
and then we have Amy, the girl who helped him find light again in the world of darkness...

The book was quite heartbreaking for me. I can't help but feel sad about Tristan's condition. He's an achiever and his life's seems perfect before the accident. But because of that he realized so many important things when he met Amy.

Amy she's so determined to go to college. Because of that, she immediately grab the opportunity as a baby sitter to Tristan to earn college funds. When she finally met Tristan, she knows that her job will not be that easy.

Albeit the differences between them, they'd...more

Amy dreams of becoming a journalist, but fears it might be just that - a dream. Even though her parents want the best for her, the cost of college, at least the college she hopes to attend, is not something they can afford. Then a job with an amazing paycheck becomes available.

Amy is going to babysit. Her charge's name is Tristan, but there's a catch. Tristan is about to graduate from high school just like Amy. The reason he needs a...more

I'm really not sure how to rate this book.
On the one hand it was a nice read and I enjoyed it. It was really easy to "get into it".
Amy seemed like a really nice character. Just like a eighteen-year-old should be.
I really liked the general idea of the book, that's why I bought it.
But on the other hand it was too short and therefore a bit rushed. Especially at the end. It feels like there are important parts missing. The whole thing with Amy's brother for example. He's gone for ten years without...more

This was such a nice heart-warming quick read!!It was really sweet!!

It starts off with Amy needing a summer job in order to be able to pay for college. She finds one babysitting that'll pay incredibly well, but the only catch is....the boy, Tristan, is her age and blind who doesn't want a babysitter.

Such a nice read for the summer or anytime you want to just have a quick fun read!!

Quick add.... I would have liked to see if any of Amy's dreams came true too, but all the same the book was wonderf...more

Nooooooooooooo, this book was supposed to be amazing! :(

I read the blurb and I thought: this is going to be amazing.

IT COULD'VE BEEN! The story was far too short and.. is it weird to describe this story as diluted? I mean, it wasn't horrible or anything, but it could've been much better. The ending, the chemistry, the everything.

Tristan is a rich teenager with a Mercedes-benz Cabriolet and a passion for show-jumping. Good looking, an equestrian, rich...I mean, who wouldn't fall for him? Well,...more

I have mixed feelings about this book. I really enjoyed the premise of the book, but I found the execution lacking.

This isn't a bad book by any means, and I flew through it. I finished it in about 3 and a half hours easily. It is a quick and easy read, but I just felt like the author could have done so much...more?

The main characters were good, and I enjoyed Chris quite a bit. I despised Lexus, but I'm pretty sure everyone despises Lexus. The only thing about her, was that she had no r...more

Really good!

Tristan's blind, and he doesn't want to face life anymore. He's embarrassed and ashamed of what he's become. But then he meets Amy, who was hired as a baby sitter for him. The story is told in Amy's POV. Tristan used to love horse riding, but he got in an accident because of it and became blind as a result. He struggles through life, and he just doesn't want to deal with it. Amy and Tristan finally get a long and become friends. Then, they become something more. And right after that,...more

It has been almost a year since I started KindleObsessed, and yesterday something occurred to me… I’m difficult to please. I know, I know… most of y’all are shaking your heads right now saying “Really Misty? It took you an entire years worth of bashing books to realize you’re a complete pain in the ass?” Yeah, well… apparently. To be honest I’m not quite sure where it comes from. Could it be the number of books I have read in my relatively young 29 years? Is it the artistic side of my head that...more

I was looking on Amazon for a new Kindle book to download for the evening and I found His Eyes. I didn't notice how small the book was or anything, but I grabbed it. I enjoyed it, but it is WAY too short. The bones to the story are there, but it seriously needs some more meat. I like to see how everyday actions get couples together. Not just the day after the meet they like each other etc. The story is good. I really liked the plot and I liked the characters. I just wanted so much more from them...more

This book was really good ! It all started when Amy needed job her senior year. She wasn't exactly looking for love or anything like that but she met Tristen. Tristen was blinded while he was riding his horse Aeris. He's been blind for about two months and he's SUPER rich. Amy saw an ad in the paper for a babysitter. Tristen's mom had met Amy and Amy hadn't known that Tristen was a senior in highschool too! So this puzzled Amy because she didn't know e...more

The premise of this book was so promising, that I was itching to read it right after learning about it. I was looking forward as to see the how the novel would tackle the complexity of emotions that could only spring from such a situation, excited to see how the two people who are unlikely to be seen together at normal circumstances would help each other with their personal situations and find themselves falling in love...

But alas, I was dismally disappointed at the execution of the novel. The e...more

Amy needed money for college, when she landed a job that pays 20$ an hour, she didn't know that she would be babysitting an 18 year old! Tristan had everything before the accident, now after that tragic horse show, he lost his sight, his friends, and his life. But with Amy in the picture, will
he learn to adapt and recolour his life?

The story line gripped me, I am a softy for romance so this is the perfect book for the night! I would say I enjoyed it.

Disappointing. I was attracted by the premise of His Eyes where a girl, Amy, is hired to babysit a blind guy named Tristan who is having a hard time accepting his current condition. I expected that it will be more about Amy reaching out to Tristan but it seems like the book loses its focus entirely the moment Tristan's ex-girlfriend makes her entry.

The sad thing is I cannot really see the authentic reason to put the ex-girlfriend's character in the story at all. She doesn't add on anything impo...more

Girl meets boy is the staple of YA novels and the "who’s" and "how’s" make all the difference between the memorable ones and the otherwise forgettable. His Eyes has the makings of a great story: she’s a girl with a lot of college dreams without the money to back them and he’s the proverbial Mr. Popular Rich Hunk whose been knocked on his ass both literally and figuratively—a horseback riding incident left him blind and isolated from the familiar good life. The set up is ripe with conflict and an...more

I was always skeptic reading books with less than 200 pages. It's rare to see authors who can wrap up a story neatly with few pages to work on, and Renee Carter does good use of all 196 pages.

Tristan was a talented equestrian. Successful in show jumping, he had a bright future ahead of him, until the accident that stole his eyesight and before that, his father's death. Now Tristan is blind, and refuses to cope with the fact that he can't see anymore. Ai...more

I have been wanting this book forever! When I finally received it, I dove right into the story!

Amy is hoping to get enough money saved up to go to college where she can intern for journalism. She had been searching for job when she stumbles upon a babysitting ad. When she goes to the interview, she is stunned to find out that she will be helping a blind boy named Tristan who happens to be graduating from high school as well. Tristan was blinded during a horseback riding accident and is having a...more

This is a fast, cute and fluffy read. A lot of it was pretty cliche and stereotypical and it moves quickly, but it still made me curse, laugh and grin. At under 200 pages, this is a one sitting book but it is a good way to pass the time.

Amy's family is interesting and I did enjoy how often they were involved in this book. Her hippie mom and business dad made an amusing couple and the way they handled things was different. That part of the book was refreshing, as was how well Amy got along with t...more

So last night I decided to try reading more contemporary novels after I finished Because Of Low by Abbi Glines since I’ve got nothing better to do. haha. Nah, it’s the holy week and it’s time to reflect but I can’t actually reflect on anything since I’m pretty much distracted by a lot of books so yeah, holy week=epic fail. And besides, I’ve been reading too much dystopian...more

His Eyes is a beautiful story that i cant seem to get out of my mind. I read it over and over again, its just that awesome.

The basic plot is that Tristan lost his eye-sight in a horse riding accident and he refuses to see any therapists, his mother is becoming desperate and hires someone to 'baby-sit' him, to bring him back to the world.
This person is our protagonist, Amy, a high-school senior who needs money if she wants to attend the college she wants. Amy goes to an interview for the babysitt...more

Amy Turner has gotten accepted into 2 schools. Illinois University and Evanston. She wants to be in journalism and Evanston would get her to her dream a lot quicker than the state college but the problem is that it will be very expensive without a scholarship.
Amy decides to respond to an ad in the paper for a babysitter but the ad she responded to forgot to mention he was blind and that he was her age. Since she is offered $20 per hour she decides to take it. All she is gonna have to do is spe...more

Here's what I think of this book:

You know, not really the book that turned my fan-girl mode on, but also not the book that left me staring into thin air emotionless.

His Eyes, is an easy, fun, and quick read.. I read it for like an hour or two.. It's light.. Not too much drama but also not lacking in one..

The characters were adorable in their own way.. Amy is determined, a little witty at times, and fortunately not dumb.. I can't say that I absolutely loved Tristan, but I...more

My Thoughts: Where to start? I will start with the price. I usually do not worry about prices but this one is around 10 dollars on amazon and its less than 200 pages which is a bit to me for such a short book. BUT, it is worth every cent. I loved loved this book. We meet Amy who is in desperate need of money so she can go to a private expensive college so she takes up a job to babysit Tristan. She does not know he's her age! And whats more? He's blind. He went blind from a horse competition. The...more

Even before she could use a pencil, Renee has been a writer. She began by telling stories to a cassette recorder and using dolls for props. Countless short stories later, Renee finished writing her first chapter book at age eleven. At thirteen, she developed her writing style through fan fiction novellas and she discovered the power of an online audience. His Eyes is Renee's first novel. She curre...more
