That is the way Poppy Ross finds her day going. Rushing to the hospital, while still reeling from the affair news, Poppy finds out that her husband, Parker, has not only been hit by lightening while in the company of his mistress, but he has lost his short term memory. I highly enjoyed Canadian author Chantel Simmons’s debut novel Stuck In Downward Facing Dog, so when Chantel contacted me about her second novel, I had to accept! This story follows twenty-seven year old image consultant Poppy Ross. Poppy finds out that her loving husband, Parker, has been having an affair with a co-worker. Poppy is devastated, but unsure how to proceed next. Before she can get her thoughts together, she receives a phone call- from the mistress herself! Parker had been struck by More...

Another chick lit i'm giving 5 stars too! I absolutly fell in love with the concept of this book and it definitely didn't disappoint.

Mid 20's Poppy Ross discovers that her handsome and what she thought devoted husband has been having an affair, but when lighting strikes, literally and hits her husband and his mistress. When her husband wakes up he has no recollection of the affair and Poppy struggles to decide whether to just let it slide and pretend it never happened or confront him. More...

This novel was laugh out loud funny and contained thoughtful insights about marriage. Poppy’s journey is both amusing and heartfelt. Her pain and confusion is palpable as she acknowledges her husband’s infidelity and tries to become the other woman she now knows he is attracted to, thinking it will fix her marriage. She does this while ignoring the situation with her husband who was struck by lightening and lost all memory of the last three months, when the affair started.

I laughed f More...

Really fun book with a great concept; Poppy catches her husband, Parker having an affair with a glamorous dark-haired co-worker, Sienna, and moments later the two cheaters are struck by lightning! Parker all of a sudden can't remember anything of the last few months, but Poppy certainly cannot forget his mistress and spends the next two months transforming herself into the raven-haired, fake-nail wearing, spray-tanned vixen. Poppy's theory is if Parker was in love with Sienna, then maybe he want More...

I'd never heard of this author before but I read the back and the book sounded cute and it really was. I enjoyed it and am going to read her other book :)

1-1/2 stars. I liked Stuck in Downward Dog, but this book was a total disappointment. The premise sounded clever, but neither plot nor characters turned out to be interesting. And all those references to name brand everything ... yawn!

I finished this book in about 24 hours and loved every minute of it. Poppy is hilarious and reading about her escapades to try to keep her husband was totally enjoyable. She basically tries to reinvent herself from classy New York chic to Snooki.

Same romance novel as countless other books with a lightening strike added to draw attention to purchase. My first book from this writer and would not buy again.

meh.
it was a quick read. but it didn't really give me anything that would ever make me think about the characters again. Which is OK. not every book is meant to do that! for what it was, I had a good time while reading it. And that's that.
