Mild-mannered music librarian Martin Webb comes home to his Boston apartment after his usual Thursday night concert and finds two old friends dead on his floor--Jerome, who had planned to spend the weekend with him, and Jerome's estranged wife Doris. Martin eventually goes to New York, to look for motives among Jerome's friends there, and finds more than he bargained for. A quirky detective and a complex plot will keep you reading.
