I thought this book was aimed at sci-fi and really cool themes as such when I first picked it up. In truth, it was mostly about character and character development. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I had hoped for a much deeper and complex story. Obviously, my list is dripping with light reading. Setting is complete in winter (surprise) and is primarily about a handful of new civilizations that have sprung as a result of a round up of villagers after the "hostile takeover."...more
