Posy Fairweather is on top of the world – quite literally – when her boyfriend Matt proposes on top of a mountain. Posy, though, doesn’t appear to be quite as happy as you would expect when your boyfriend of three years proposes, and her friends think it may have something to do with her ex ‘Lord Voldemort’; he who shall not be named. Posy realises that before she can truly commit to Matt she must track down her previous boyfriends and find out exactly why their relationship ended and decide if...more
This book has an interesting plot to it, however I don't think it was as interesting as it could have been. There could have been more humour too (although there was some). I didn't really like any of the female characters apart from Marian. I'm not sure Posy deserved the ending she got. Her sister, Fleur, wasn't incredibly nice or supportive and her best friend Leah was... A little selfish and crazy about men (it's really no wonder why she couldn't get a boyfriend). And Posy's mother Jonquil wa...more
i'm still not sure what i thought of this book,i thought the plot was verging on the ridiculous, and i hated a lot of the characters, even posie a lot of the time, but especially jonquil if i'm honest - one of the most unbelievable aspects of the book to me was the fact that she forgave jonquil for behaving the way she had!I did find parts of the book really good though, posies first trip to an ex was really enjoyable and all in all the book wasnt terrible,i just expected a bit more from it!
This book was definitely not as good as the previous Jenny Colgan book I read. I think the story line could have worked well, with Posy searching for her exes, but for me it didn't.
I thought most of the characters were really annoying, and it wasn't really going anywhere. None of the exes had any sort of charm to me, they were all equally unimpressive.
Some parts were funny, but it wasn't enough for me to really enjoy the book as a whole.

I would rate this as a 4 if not for the fact that I don't like what Posy did to Matt after he proposed. Not quite what he deserved from her, what with her travelling to meet her ex-es just to close a chapter. In my opinion, when one breaks up with his/her significant other, the chapter's closed.
But nonetheless, I'm glad that Posy managed to find what she really wants and I'm glad she's finally back together with Matt. Yays! ^^

I couldn't decide if I should give this a 2 or 3 star rating. This is probably my least favorite Jenny Colgan book. I loved Amanda's Wedding, but since then the book plots have gone downhill. This is the worst of her books because not only is the plot awful, the book is not as funny as her others and there is not one likeble character. The only part I liked was the typical chase at the end. Ugh, Facebook.
I really like Jenny Colgan and her books and her writing. But this one just made me so cranky. The story was not nice, Posy, the main character, wasn't nice, her mother, her friends, her sister.... The only nice character in the whole book, really, was Matt. And if I had been him, I would have run fast and far!!
It made me smiled. Near every chapter the author put it as facebook's status and how many people like it. I can't image myself seeking ex-boyfriend if I'm gonna married someone in the future, no thanks! But read this book, so funny between Posy, her sister and best friend's conversation at each other!
Not one of my favourite Colgan novels, I have to say. I didn't quite get a grip on the characters, not even the main character, Posy. I just didn't understand her actions. The entire book felt a little bit unfinished somehow. It also wasn't as funny as some of her other books. I did like the ending though.
I really enjoyed this book by Jenny Colgan. It's chick lit to the core and follows Posy as she traces her significant exes while getting engaged to her current boyfriend. There are lots of funny moments from her friend Leah and her sister Fleur, as well as her tyrant of a mother. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the love of her life (whose name I won't mention!), the one who she still thought about and hurt her so badly was a bit of a let down! He needed to be hotter!

For a random book I picked up on a whim, I have to say I really enjoyed the book. There wasn't a single character I really disliked, as they all had reasons behind their characteristics. I love the integration of the Facebook-type statuses throughout, and though they don't explain anything the reader doesn't already know, it's a nice addition. All in all, a nice storyline, easy to follow, and near the end, you don't want to put it down. Very good.
Poppy gets engaged but isn't sure that all her exes are closed chapters in her life. She sets out to visit them all to make sure she is doing the right thing. Understandably her new fiance isn't thrilled when he finds out. This book was a little slow starting- but it was a really nice read. Perfect to curl up with over the festive season!

“Then when Matt had come along it hadn't been fireworks, passion and fights and drama. It had been low- key, sweet, lovely. But that didn't meant it wasn't the real thing. It never had done. Just because it wasn't suprising hadn't meant it wasn't right.”
