I haven't tried any of the recipes from this book yet, but it's more of the same from Cook's Illustrated, which is a positive thing in my opinion. User friendly recipes with clear instructions and helpful visuals.
Cook's Illustrated always provides dependable recipes, with easy to follow instructions. I've had nothing but success with CI recipes. Another great thing about CI is that they help the cook understand the ingredients and methods, as well as provide good recipes.

Have checked out from the library. Wanted to see how this compares to Best New Recipes. I understand that this is from the second 10 years of ATK. Have been underwhelmed (underseasoned?) by many ATK recipes. Lots of steps, too. BUT, you cannot fault them for lack of testing.
Determined I don't need to own this. Web subscription is enough.
