I'd kind of forgotten about Katzenbach as a writer of thrillers, but enjoyed my re-introduction to him with this book. The premise is interesting, since it becomes obvious early on that not only is the hero of the book--a grizzled, retired veteran of the police force--going to be a senior citizen, the villain will be, as well. This could plunge into the land of things ridiculous, but it doesn't and Katzenbach sells the story. There is enough action to hold interest and enough mystery to keep

Too long and too boring. Katzenbach manages to keep the reader's attention with most of his books but that's about it. For those who haven't read it, it's about a Nazi war criminal who is trying to get rid of all the Jews left around his neighbourhood, so they can't be witnesses against him if the authorities move in. It lacks suspense and the ending is nothing special. Only good thing about it is that one of the characters called "Hightops" is funny.

A very good thriller about a Jewish turncoat who is recognized in Florida many years after WW2. In order to protect his identity he embarks on a killing spree. A retired, elderly police officer becomes intimately involved in solving the crime.

The Jewish neighbor of a retired Miami homicide detective tells him that
she spotted a Jewish "Catcher" from the WWII concentration camps. Then
she and another holocaust survivor are found murdered. Good story.

My first John Katzenbach book. Good writing and the story kept my interest. Based on this book I would not hesitate to read another Katzenbach story.

This was another picked up from the office lending shelf - and I was happy to find the good writing, fascinating backstory, and great page-turning action.

Well.. I must admit that this is my fist Katzenbach book. The first 120 pages could be a little slow and some times kind of plain. But just afther that it gets into the good way, I love the chapter 13 with Espy being the hero at the moment. Lets see how it works after passing the half of the total pages.

Another good book by John Katzenbach. Not quite as good as The Analyst but still a must read.
