Blake Coleman is old enough to know that acting on impulse causes nothing but a heap of trouble. But when trouble’s a blonde wearing a cowboy hat with slim legs that go on forever, what’s a man to do? Wanting the sweet girl next door is just wrong. Hell, he was the one that taught her to ride a horse and now all he can think about is riding her. The responsible thing to do ...more

Rocky Mountain Heat is my first Vivian Arend book. This author did not disappoint, Set in the Canadian Rockies, Ms. Arend delivers a book that sexy, tender, full of family and also full of surprises. I bought this book on a whim. Well, my purchase on a whim payed off this time. I loved this book!

Blake Coleman is the oldest of six boisterous brothers in the Coleman clan. He is patient, he works hard, he is often

photo Hello_zps111a4429.gif Update to my review March 12, 2013. I received additional information from the author about my review. Apparently I read an old version of this book and not the updated version (updated in 2012). According to Vivian some of the things i had issues with were changed. So please keep that in mind when you are reading my review.

I could not really get into this book, even though i knew it would be a light steamy read it just fell flat. I couldn't get into the hero Blake, and I really couldn't get i

It would have been 4 stars, but I seriously can't stand and tolerate the main heroine!!! She basically ruined the whole book for me! Don't get me wrong, this book is hot hot!!!!

But.... I want to murder this chick! She can go on and on how Blake was her one and true love since they met, but she was basically brothers "groupie" that DID NOT PUT OUT!

Sorry, but dating the other brother because he looks like Blake and because she thought she has no chance with Blake is just wrong. An

I recommend this book to those of you who love Lorelei James.

I loved this short but very steamy read right from the beginning.

This series centers around 6 hunky brothers, hence the name of the series 6 pack Ranch.

This is the first book in the series that centers around the oldest brother Blake. Blake has had a thing for Jaxi for quite some time but he's kept away from her because he is 10 years o
3 stars.

Not amazing but not bad. The writing was at times a little corny and some events in the story oddly bordered on incestuous. The sexy times were totally freaking hot though... felt like I needed Karla's SM fan.

Not enough to keep me completely riveted, and that fact - plus Law Man's release - had me skimming towards the end.

Oh La La La!

She flashed him a gorgeous smile. "I told you I've loved you forever."

Jaxi was my favorite in this book. Sweet, sexy and a very determined heroine. She's been in love with Blake since she was a kid. She grew up on the neighborhood of Coleman and was close to age with the youngest twin Joel & Jesse. On her teenage years she dated Travis Coleman but it doesn't last long. She takes classes to be fit to become a rancher's wife. And after 2 years she's on another plan. An

This was my face the entire book.

Look, I love romance, I also love to read erotica, I don't cringe or get faint about threesomes or same sex relationships or rough sex, etc. That said, this book was not great. There were paper thin and loathsome characters galore, poor pacing/ploting, and the writing/dialogue...yikes.

So let's take it from the top. This is the first in what I imagine is going to be a story following the Coleman brothers/friends who all live in the Canadian Rockies. Points to Ms
3 1/2 stars (rounded down to 3 stars, because the second half of the story dragged a bit and lost focus, wandering through several secondary characters' shenanigans while Blake and Jaxi played the dating game)

Note: This book contains a ménage scene featuring Blake's brother Matt, his (Matt's) girlfriend Helen and their (Blake and Matt's) cousin Gabe. That had nothing to do with the story - in fact, neither Blake nor Jaxi even heard about it - so I'm still wondering what the point was. If it was
Wonder why the Coleman's ranch called "Six Pack Ranch"?

It because they have 6 six pack HAWT cowboys :))(the image show just 4 hotties, hmm, never mind *waves hand*)

The story is about Jaxi, she is the closest friend of Coleman boys (there are 6 of them, Blake, Matt, Daniel, Travis, and the twins, Jesse and Joel). Jaxi dating Travis when she was 18 , but deep in her heart, she always want Blake, the oldest son, from the beginning. The problem was, Blake 10 years older than her, and he always threat

This book was just perfect. One beautiful book with the most satisfying end. It warmed me from the inside and left me smiling. I couldn't actually fall asleep after I finished it,because I was thinking about the nice moments and how much I liked it.

We have Blake the sexy cowboy and Jaxi with her soft heart, and wonderful personalty. The hot scenes were hot. This was one of these books where everything happens the way you want it to without sounding too easy
This was one of those "meh" reads.

It was so ordinary that I can't think of anything to say, good or bad. So yay mediocrity!

Rocky Mountain Heat is the first in the Six Pack Ranch series. I read this book because of a strong recommendation from Pearl at Pearl’s World Of Romance and I have to admit, Pearl knows a good cowboy romance when she reads one. Cowboy romances have never really been my thing but I’ve found lately that I’m drawn to them more and more.

Jaxi and Blake have known each other since Jaxi was a little girl. Blake being 10 years older than her, has always played the big brother to Jaxi, teaching her how

Blake Coleman is fighting the same thing that he has been fighting for the past few years, his attraction to Jaxi. The girl who has literally grown up on his land and getting into the same scrapes as his all too ornery brothers. Something as changed now however – Jaxi is under his roof and she is playing a whole new ballgame and he is not sure he likes the rules, that is if he even knows what the rules are.

Rocky Mountain Heat by Vivian Arend was such a treat! It was a hot, erotic novel with great characters and a captivating storyline. And to be honest, six sexy cowboys were a nice change of pace from vampires, werewolves, and all things paranormal.

While this novel showcased all of the Six Pack brothers, this story focused primarily on Jaxi and Blake’s relationship. Jaxi and Blake grew up next door to one another. They have loved one
series bait, not like that is a bad thing

Yea, this one wasn't great, it wasn't bad, it might be passably good. It seems to me that Ms Arend excels at these quick steamy reads and this one was no different. It was a nice diversion and a bit of perversion. Some of the steam seemed like it was stuck in just for the he!! of it. I'd read the other books in the series if they were on serious sale or available at the library, but I wouldn't go out of my way to obtain them.

Enjoy. I think this one is st

I read the re-released version which from quickly scanning through some reviews looks to be better than the original version.

I did have a few niggles and the main one was how Jaxi finally convinced Blake to make his move! I think the flirting with his brothers to make Blake jealous went a bit too far especially when she allowed one of the brothers to put his hand up her dress!

I want to give a Big Thank you to Mariann at Belle's Book Bag for having this series on her blog. I enjoyed and loved reading Rocky Mountain Heat that I had to buy the second book ASAP. Vivian Arend knows how to write about love, friendship with a sexy alpha male cowboy.

LOVED IT from start to finish! This is what I am talking about when I want a Contemporary Cowboy Romance that is set on a ranch. The scene is clearly and beautifully set, allowing my mind to visualize it in technicolor. Blake, Jaxi and the rest of the characters are well rounded, engaging people I was interested in, not only for this book but the rest of the series as well. Ms. Arend understands some of the nuances of close knit large families who work and live in close proximity and worked all ...more

Apparently I read this 2+ years ago, it definitely seemed a little familiar. The review I wrote back then still stands. I skipped Matt & Helen's scenes. But adored Jaxi & Blake.

Original review (May 2013):

I'm frustrated with this book. The story is about Blake and Jaxi. But I guess since it's the introduction to a series, we needed a shit ton of nonsense and sex scenes between other people. I don't give a shit about their drama - I'm reading the story for Blake and Jaxi.

There were a lot of things that really bugged me about the heroine in this one. I liked how hard she worked and how willing she was to help out, but the way she cycled through the brothers really icked me out. It was too Legends of the Fall-ish for my liking. All the in fighting between the brothers over Jaxi was disturbing.

And the scene at the bar when she let the twins grope her and get her off right in front of Blake to try and jumpstart his possessive instincts--just no. I lost a lot of res

This review is for the all three of the Six Pack Ranch novels.

First I need to ask, I’m Canadian and I’d like know where these Canadian cowboys are hiding? This book was recommended to me because I am a fan of Loralei James’ Rough Rider series. Although I didn’t like them quite as much as the Rough Riders, it was close.

I loved the heroes in this series. They come from an old fashioned ranching family and have the perfect blend of cowboy chivalry and sexy bad boy. The heroines are all spunky and
