I must admit that I did not expect much from the book based on its length (96 pages). I was pleasantly surprised to find that it covered not only recent villains, but older ones from the series as well. The history of the creatures origins both fictional and creation process are covered in detail. Of particular interest, are early drafts and designs of the creatures. It is apparently one of a trilogy of guides to the series and I look forward to reading the other two.
