This was the first book I ever read which focused on Roman Britain and it serves as a good introduction to the topic. Since then I've read several more, so Welch's particular slant escapes me.
Lauren Albert
A solid, if rather dry, discussion of the Roman conquest and occupation of Britain. Welch certainly goes into more detail than many of the books I've read. He shows in what way Britain was "Roman" and in what ways it remained separate and how the end came.
