Part of the "Mysteries Unwrapped" series, several terrifyingly, spooky tales of supposedly real haunted locations around America are examined. The format of the book is set up to make it hard for "scary story" readers to resist packing up for a road trip around the U.S.A. to see if they can experience these things for themselves!

There is very little characterization, it's fast paced, and this read would be great for people who like scary/ghost stories, or historical non-fiction. I would recommen

A very basic overview of haunted locations across the US, including the White House, the Amityville Horror House, Gettysburg, and the Queen Mary. It had a brief section on Bachelor's Grove (the reason I checked the book out), but each entry is just a cursory overview, so I didn't glean a lot of new information. The book has cool illustrations, but more photographs would have been nice. The cover was especially neat - there's a square cut out, which reveals part of a picture in which two people ...more

This book is about our haunted U.S.A. It's a good story of the theories myths and history of our haunted USA! From moving statues to vanishing houses this book is a real thriller for all ages. The white house also has it's share of hauntings! We truly have a country of haunted history! i chose this book because i enjoy the unexplained and I also read a book very much like this one ( Muntians and Monsters) so I thought this one would be as good. Anyone who likes a good scare should read this ...more

This book has a variety of stories from all over America. Gettysburg, the Queen Mystery, Amityville Horror house are only a few of the many stories covered in this book.

I knew most of the stories in this book, but it was still a good read. For those who like the paranormal, or just starting to read true paranormal books, this would be a good one.

I love reading ghost stories especially real ones
and ones that are intertwined with our U.S. history.
if you enjoy ghost stories and history then pick
this book up! My favorite part in this book was
the Hollywood section that included Marilyn Monroe.
Make sure you read this with the lights on... I'm going
to be truthful and say that I did get spooked in parts.
