Ms. Lyons crafts an intricate story of a family struck by tragedy. Though there is a single tragic event that spawns a series of painful experiences for the family, each member is dealing with his or her demons. The style, shifting from 3rd person to various 1st person narrators, is a bit tricky to follow at first, but as the story unravels, the shift in point of view becomes integral to the full understanding of each character.
