I love reading memoirs especially ones where you feel what the person is saying. In My Blissful Life you float along with M.J. in her journey....I laughed.... I cried.....I was scared....I was confused....I felt joy and happiness.
Any book that gets my emotions involved is a winnner !! Especially when you are reading about an experience that you at one point in your own life you also experienced. There was one just event that brought all my emotions to the surface and I had to stop reading (coul

My biggest issue with this book was that there was a lot of backtracking and repeating of sentences and stories. Also the title is a bit misleading. While she does talk about her husband being on a sub, she goes into more detail about becoming an author after her divorce than what life as a submariners wife is really about. I expected more along the lines of "I lost my military ID 5 minutes after the boat pulled out" and got more of 'I knew my marriage was over for 13 years before we finally got ...more
