HOLY FRIGGIN' CRAP! - This book was mindbogglingly amazing! The second installment to the Dark-Hunter spin off young ydult series, Chronicles of Nick, the plot of Invincible was just as amazing as Infinity's.

I couldn't help but fall in love all the more with this amazing character, Nick Gautier. He had captured my adoration and love all the way back to the first novel of the Dark-Hunter series, Night Pleasures, and he continued to do so off-and-on throughout the twenty three books o More...

Harry Potter meets the dark side minus the glasses and wand plus the "Fangs". lol

They say when you’re about to die, you see your entire life flash before your eyes.
.....They lied.

Lets see. how will I start this review. First, let me tell you that when I first read the Infinity I didn't know that its a spin off of the Dark Hunter series. Which I also just discovered that it had 20 books. Plus theres other spin off of the spin o More...

Invincible starts where Infinity left off. Nick Gautier has just battled zombies and is given no time to lick his wounds. Nick must start learning to use his powers and quickly before his enemies find him. As if that wasn't enough pressure to place on his 14 year old shoulders, his new principle is looking for a reason to kick Nick out of his privileged school and the new football coach plans on using Nick off the field in order to accomplish his wicked plan. His classmates are being murdered an More...

This is the second installment in the Chronicles of Nick. I love Sherrilyn's writing and the sarcasm/wit infused in her books. This series is a young adult prequel of sorts to her Dark Hunter series.

Oh my goodness, Invincible was just as good as the first one. I finished this audiobook immediately after Infinity a month ago. This story is still stuck in my head and book 3, Infamous, comes out in March! Another book I know will be added to my favorites list.

Invincible picks up immediately where Infinity left off. Nicks has recently found out everyone he kno More...

Invincvible is the 2nd book in The Chronicles of Nick, Sherrilyn Kenyon's YA series featuring our favorite smart mouth cajun squire.

In this series, there's a twist to his beginnings with the Dark Hunters: His futuristic self known as Ambrose, is looking back on his youth, and is trying to influence events that happen to his younger self that might alter events that happen later in his life. It seems there are other beings also trying to exert some influence as well. 'Death' pays More...

The fate of the world is at stake, and the deciding factor between good and evil rest upon the shoulders of a teenager. Sherrilyn Kenyon's foray into the popular YA genre hits it's stride with the sophomoric release of The Chronicles of Nick series, Invincible. This second effort is definitely better than the first. We pick up where the last book left off, right after Nick and his friends defeat the zombies, and the mortents. Oh, and then there's Kyrian's flashing some fang. But who and what his More...

You have to respect an author who's been #1 on the NY Times Bestseller list 12 times in 2 years.

Invincible is book 2 in the Chronicles of Nick series, the YA spin-off from her Dark Hunter novels and it jumps in right where book 1 (Infinity) left off. And you really need to have read the first one for much of it to make sense.
Aside from that, it's a beautifully irreverent adventure through the world Sherrilyn Kenyon has created, told through the eyes of a sarcastic 14 year old boy More...

This book has some definite high points and I love Nick, but there were some points that just drug the book down for me. Many of these points were long passages of character speech that were out of character and sounded more like the author trying to get a point across than the character actually trying to say something. They were jarring and they so didn't sound like anything anyone would ever actually say much less a 14 year old. Then there was just so much going on in this book and a lot of i More...

INIVINCIBLE picks up right where INFINITY left off....and I mean immediately following the event of the first book. I loved that I was able to get right back into the story.

Nick is trying to deal with the fall out from the Zombie attacks in the first book and due to his new found abilities and his new supernatural "friends", Nick is juggling a lot of different things.

Once again, the relationship More...

I picked this book up because I found myself somewhere for a weekend with no books. Furthermore, by the time I realized it, the only place open was walmart. Of the choices, this looked like the best bet. (It was not obvious from the cover that this was #2 in a series, *sigh*.)

It is a teenage boy, chosen one, only he can save the world. Except instead of taking the One Ring to Mordor, he goes to high school. It's not actually clear (at least, not from this book) what he's supposed More...

Another great book by the Author Goddess. Invincible - Nick's story - has so much going on and so many old and new characters in it that I felt overwhelmed at times but SK's wonderful and witty dialogue kept me on track. What a talent for one-liners she has! In addition to snarky young Nick - which I am positive her young sons, whom she dedicated this novel to, loved - Ms. K is the queen of psychology. Her ability to see inside her characters allows her writing to connect with me in a way fe More...

I don’t really understand why this book is written in the YA genre. Considering most readers of the Dark Hunter series are adults, what’s the point of releasing a YA spinoff? Unless you’ve read the Dark Hunter books you probably won’t have a clue what’s going on in this series, and I doubt too many young adults have read DH. I feel like it was because this is a YA series that the characters were so immature and annoying. Sarcasm is funny when used in moderation but when the whole book is filled More...

Second in the urban-fantasy series, Chronicles of Nick which parallels the Dark-Hunter series.

The Story
It's the day after the zombies have attacked the school when Caleb revealed his role as Nick's bodyguard. Nick's mom has lost her job due to Nick's little stunt although Kyrian sets her up with a much better one at Sanctuary.

Most of the story is of Nick discovering and trying to learn how to deal with his supernatural side while under attack from demons and the new Co More...

Sherrilyn Kenyon continues her YA Dark-Hunter companion series, with this second installment of The Chronicles of Nick. Invincible picks up mere seconds after the conclusion of Infinity, with Nick's revelation that his boss Kyrian is something other than human. I have to say that this was a little disappointing. I had hoped that Nick would age with each book as he grew closer to the timeline of the DH books where he first appeared. But alas, he is still 14.

Thankfully, though, this More...

Ok, confession time – I am in love with Nick Gautier. Give me 14 year old, wise-cracking Nick, or dark, broody Dark Hunter series adult Nick - I love them all and in this series you get both. Today I’m talking about the Chronicles of Nick, the YA series by Miz Sherrilyn Kenyon, which scribe Nick’s earlier years; with a twist.

If you have gotten to know Nick in the Dark Hunter series (as in an adult, please for the love of Liza, do NOT g More...

3.5 rounded down

Actually, it was terribly difficult to rate this book. Plot-wise, I loved this so much more than the first one - we have the beginning of conflict in the series (though how she's going to stretch the series to ten books is really beyond me).

First of all, I adored seeing all my favorite characters make their cameos - Kyrian, Ash, Simi, the were-hunters, etc. However, they've all been so altered in the timeline, I'm not quite sure how she'll tie them in back to More...

Good that I'm a fast reader:) After finishing Infinity the day before I directly got Invincible downloaded.

Again I love Nick the most, his strength and braveness and loyalty to his friends. I espeically love his humor and sarcasm although I could imagine if I'd met him for real I would be annoyed at some point *snickers*

Well, anyway Invincible takes place just the next day after the end of Infinity. But Nick won't have time to breath - a new coach is in town and there is so More...

Overall, I liked it. Younger Nick has a great sense of humor, & I liked his point of view. I read it all in one sitting & was mainly looking for some more answers regarding how this series is going to alter the adult series. Maybe I misread something in the first book, but I thought Nick found out Simi was Ash's in Infinity (apparently not). I'm still quite skeptical how this is all going to turn out without discrediting all the events from the adult series. We shall see. Moreover, I liked More...

Invincible

Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon
Series: The Chronicles of Nick #2
Genre: Young Adult Fiction
Form: Audiobook

Synopsis: Picking up right where Infinity left off, Nick Gautier is now training with Grimm (Death) to be able to access and use his powers effectively, a task he’s finding quite difficult and frustrating, especially with information coming from Grimm (Death), Uncle Ambrose, Caleb, and Kody – and usually the information is a bit conflictin More...

Ok this review may seem a bit harsh and usually I reserve harsh reviews for books that end up in my books that should die a slow death shelf but as an obsessive SK fan I feel a little disappointed with this series. The Dark-Hunter series is most definitely not the only thing by SK that I have read so I know she can write anything and everything and is damn good at it, but with this series I am not feeling SK's normal pull. With most of her books I just cannot put them down but I really had to fo More...

Invincible is book two in Sherrilyn Kenyon's young adult series the "Chronicles of Nick", an alternative reality to the destiny taken by Nick Gautier in her adult 'Dark Hunter' series. As a fan of the adult series I'm finding the Chronicles of Nick an intriguing read, as it twists what we think we already know and fills in a few blanks at the same time.

However, it is a very light series so far, and Invincible sticks to this tradition. Invincible relied on the reader having read the first b

This was clearly better than book 1.
First of all, the story didn't turn into an absurdum with human computergame-zombies. This time, there were demons and bad-ass-demons and stuff, but no computer-zombies, which was really an improvement on the storyline.
Second, this time the reader wasn't overrun with ne characters which all only showed up for 3 senteces, than vanished again. Of course there were a few new characters, but they made a lot more sense than the hundreds of people not get More...

Definitely 4 stars.
I have not read any of the other series by Ms Kenyon. I found the first book of the Chronicles of Nick and started there. This book (being the second book of that series) was just as enjoyable as the first.
The target reader of this series are Young Adult readers. As such, the book contains no overtly sexual or graphically violent material. Readers looking for the 'adult' dark hunter series context should skip over this book. Personally I prefer the tamer version. More...

The book was a short read if you consider not taking in the cameos. But it's still funny and entertaining to read.

Post-Zombie attack, Nick Gautier was back at school. Things became a lot more or less shiny. Kids his age were killed randomly and he got a psycho coach to worry about. There's a lot new player in town and everyone want a piece of Nick Gautier. Or better yet, trying to get him into the dark side quicker. So demon attacks on the rise, (which I was waiting for my fav demon More...

I feel like I need to go back and amend my review of the first book. I really enjoyed this sequel. It was well-written and interesting. A really good, sometimes scary, sometimes funny but always entertaining paranormal YA book, which is hard to find in this sea of smoochy romance-rapey paranormal books.
