I wish I'd could have written this well when I was 14. The world will never see the stuff I wrote at 14 (or indeed at 20), but this is so much better than that.
This is a book written by a talented 14 year old. No, scratch that, it's a book written by a very talented 14 year old.
It's short, but it's aimed at the YA market so the shortness is tolerable. It has an excellent premise and a dynamic plot. Those are both 5 star parts of the plot.

What would happen if you could actually live in your own imagination?
Well, Josiah finds this out one day when he comes across a random pair of sunglasses at a store that just happen to be free. When he gets home he puts them on, and as soon as he does he's swept up into an imaginary world that he believes he has created. Once there, he meets two of his imaginary friends that he's had for many, many years. At first this doesn't se More...

Review:
This is a book about a group of teenagers, written by a young author. Despite his tender age, Dawson writes in a refreshing punchy style. It is slightly reminiscent of a James Bond adventure, but with it being targeted at young adults, there is a unique perspective on the story.
Despite it being aimed at a much younger audience, I found the book an enjoyable read. Dawson enters the world More...

This book is really good! I just finished it, and I cannot wait to read the sequel! There were some formatting issues, but they didn't detract from the story. There also were a couple of times when the transitions were jarring. One moment, they were fighting a battle, and the very next sentence, they were back at the hotel room. However, that's just a minor thing, and didn't take away from the story. Great job, Dawson!

Dawson is a young author that has channeled his creative energy into a thrilling series on the adventures of Josiah Jones. I greatly enjoyed Double Life. It reminded me of a video game that Josiah was able to play by simply putting on some shades. I just watched a show on the Science Channel about how early science fiction writers often inspired real life science (Think 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea). This would be a gamer's dream.
Dawson shows promise of a great career in writing. It More...

One of the few books that I actually would not finish. Sounded more like a travellogue or a recitation of a Geography class than fiction. Ugh! I just couldn't break through, plus it needed help from an editor.
