I wanted to really like this book. I grabbed this book on impulse from the library, as I’ve had a great experience with Visual Quickstart books in the past. I dove into this book, wanting to learn a lot from it and give it a glowing review. However, I came out pretty disappointed. As I was reading through the book, I was basically finding one issue after another. I tried to read through the entire book to give it a chance, but I couldn’t care enough to reach the final chapters.

A concise look at WordPress that's good for complete beginners. Full of relevant examples for people who want to manage a WordPress site and do a little bit of customization. I'm interested in creating WordPress themes, but that is not the focus of this book. Themes are discussed, but not in-depth.

A good overview. Explains the varieties of Wordpress (.com and .org), and how to choose between them, then goes into how to go about using Wordpress's features, plugins, and how to use themes. If you need a solid introduction to WordPress, this will nicely fit the bill.
This will be good for anyone that isn't very computer savvy. I do alright on them and this was mostly a waste of my time. It goes from very beginner-type stuff like 'how to create an account'.

Good intro book to the world of Wordpress for beginners, maybe a little too basic if you're looking to develop Wordpress themes, which I plan to do next!
Neither loved nor hated it. Nice general overview of Wordpress. Probably a bit dated.
Does what it says it will do.
just so so.
