There's another graphic novel that I can't think of that uses purple for outlines. And Matthew Reinhart, he of the chunky woodcut-like line and the fabulous paper constructions, uses purple as his outline color all the way through this super book.

One of the best pop up /discovery traditional English nursery rhymes books I've come across. The pop ups are very intricate, quite large and there are many on the same page. Some pop ups need to be opened by the child which adds further excitement and reading pleasure.
