How did Morgan fing out she was adopted? She was arguing with her mom and dad telling them that she was a witch.

Who got mad at Morgan for kissing Cal? Bree and Raven got made at her.

Why did Bree and Raven get mad? Because they both wanted cal and he picked Morgan instead.

Level two:
What does Morgan do when she found out she was adopted? She ran down stirs to look at her borth certificite. Then when she saw i different mothers name o More...

Aghhh, I can tell these short books are really going to have me gripped that I am already wondering how I will get some sleep because I find myself becoming addicted to the series. I don't think that this book was as good as the first one because the drama was missing, BUT the cliffhanger that it held and contained just meant that you got to the end of the novel and wanted to move instantly to the next one. I loved the fact that you seemed to see the evil sides of Bree and Raven in this book. In More...

Handlung

The second book of the series is just as captivating as the first. The reader is treated to not one, but two stories. Morgan's and her mother Maeve's, as told in the pages of her BOS. The aspect of Maeve's BOS (Book Of Shadows) cofused me somewhat, because I spent duration of the book trying to figure out if Morgan had the book, or if the author was just using the entries as a flashback technique.
Ok...on to the story. Morgan is a witch and she is also adoped! As is almo More...

I'm really enjoying this series.

In this book we find out the truth about Morgan's parents. She demands the truth from her adoptive parents and rightfully so. However it takes them a while to tell her the truth.

After finding out the truth she can now start to heal her broken relationship with her parents. I think they will end up being closer now.

We also see how far Bree with go with revenge. Cal is the first boy to ever reject Bree. It's very obvious she doe More...

Today's review is on The Coven by: Cate Tiernan

The Coven is the second book in the sweep series, and though I enjoyed reading it it was not as good as the first book, Book of Shadows.

The book begins each chapter with entries in the Book of Shadows of Morgan's mother then goes into the main story.

After finding out that she is a Blood Witch, Morgan gets the courage to confront her parents and find out why they have been keeping the fac More...

The first 2-3 books in this series are addictive, a fresh "modern-teen" POV in the tired genre of witches/kids with supernatural powers finding themselves (and the wonder of Wicca) among families/communities who "don't get it".

After #3, it goes downhill. There is no psychological development of the main characters (and the secondary characters are quite shallowly described and hard to distinguish throughout the series; even the more promising and believable ones, B More...

This book is also one of my favourite books ever.It is really inspiring that anything can happen.Morgan who had lived with her parents was adopted. She was kept from the truth that she was adopted for sixteen years. Another thing is that she finds out that she is a witch. Her best-friend bree who is this really pretty girl wanted everything and she did have whatever she wanted except Cal, who chose Morgan instead of Bree. Bree than broke her relationship with her and acted all strange and mean t More...

Wow, this story sure is moving along fast! Morgan is discovering more and more about her heritage, and the history that brought her mother to America. We are learning more about witches, and soul mates. We learn more about her adopted family too.

Cal is of course, the perfect boyfriend, so I have to wonder when the other shoe will drop and we'll see a flaw; if there is one thing I learned from Tiernan's other series, it is that males are flawed when it comes to females lol.

This book was a clear improvement over the first one. In this, Morgan confronts her parents about her status as a blood witch, or a genetic witch, and quickly finds out that she was adopted. Her search for information on her birth mother becomes an obsession just as her relationship with Cal is heating up. She is also feeling very conflicted about what happened with Bree but when she finds out that Bree and Raven are asking another witch for a "withering of love" spell, hse is shocked More...

The last book left off with Morgan beginning to realise her full potential as well as her kissing Cal in front of the rest of the coven... as well as in front of her best friend who had been infatuated with him. Now Morgan has lost her best friend as well and to add onto the pile, she's just discovered that she's adopted & that everyone else in her family (apart from her sister) has known about it all along. Needless to say, Morgan isn't doing very well right now.

I wasn't sure if I More...

So I picked up this book this afternoon, around 3. Took a 2 hour nap from 4-6. Picked it back up again and just finished it at 8pm. Yes, I am a fast reader, and it's a fairly short book, but that's not the point... I could NOT put this book down! Which is really odd because I had a very lukewarm reaction to the first Sweep book. This one was definitely much better and I definitely will be reading the rest.

In this book the story becomes much more interest8ing and the main character m More...

"The Coven" picks up right where book #1 left off. In just a few days Morgan has discovered Wicca, fallen in love and fought with her best friend. Now it seems that everything she has believed about herself and her family for the last sixteen years is about to be exposed as a lie.
Like the last book in the series this book is an amazing book on magical witches. But unlike the last in the series it's much more suspenseful and dark. I loved this book it's better than the last and I More...

I wont give anymore away but this second book in the series is fabulous and i would recommend it to anyone, the characters are likeable the plot keeps you interested,i would go as far as to call it a page turner! And cate keeps it real and has good insight as to how teenagers think and feel and deal with More...

Once again, a quick, easy and entertaining read! I love books like this. Cate Tiernan gets strait to the story, no extra details to skim through and only 185 pages.

The part that really intrigued me; is reading from a perspective of someone that has been betrayed and lied to by the people she loves when a shocking secret is revealed. Worst of all, she doesn’t have her best friend to confide in.

Morgan’s best friend Bree is a spoiled, selfish, little brat! The one and only t More...

The second one is as good as the first, but more deep(even if it's a quick read). Morgan ends up finding out she's adopted when she confronts her parents that she is a blood witch, and also acknowledged that her real parents were burned to death in a barn and are indeed witches as well. Unrealistically, just after about 2 month of dating, cal told morgan that they're soul mates and are meant to be together. As much as i enjoy this book, Tiernan have a way of cutting storys like cutting them in ha More...

Great book, like the first one. I’m still slightly suspicious of Cal (I really hope he’s for real and I’m not rooting for a scumbag!) and I definitely don’t trust his creepy mother. I’m generally anxious for Morgan and see potential for some awful, frustrating things to happen in the story, which has me stressed about reading further into the series. I really like Morgan, but I don’t understand why she doesn’t communicate more with the people in her coven and why she keeps egging Bree and R More...

I liked this book more on a plot level (since things actually happen), and there are some better mystery aspects than in the first. Also, the use of Mauve 's entries in the Book of Shadow was an interesting addition to the book.

That said, the more I read in this series, the more I want to scream. It gets further away from the reality of Wicca, which is disappointing, considering the amount of research Tiernan obviously put into it. Though, it's still better than many interptations I More...

I liked this book better than the first. I think because so many witchy things happen... like little rhymes and spells just come to Morgan unbidden. Like how she can call Cal when she needs him. She's finding out who she really is and learning what it's like to be the center of attention. It's abrupt ending only made me want to read more and so far I have been lucky in finding all the digital titles available for immediate download from the library.

So many hateable characters in the second book, oh no!

Morgan Rowlands is a powerful blood witch. No way denying that, it's undeniable and even Morgan has to face that. But how can she possibly be a blood witch if her parents aren't? There's only one logical explanation: She must have been adopted. Along with her boyfriend and coven member Ca More...

Video of me ranting about this book? It can be found HERE. It also delves into the next two books, Book of Shadows and Blood Witch. Full, written review is further down below.

The Coven, which is the second book in the series - is really about Morgan learning more about her witch heritage, and her uninspiring and disgustingly sappy relationship with Cal. Personally this was my least favourite book out of the series so far.

Book two only and the plot thickens already!! This book was MUCH better than the first book. We come to find out all about Morgan's back story. Well, not all of it, but a lot of it and I'm sure there's going to be much much more. She's a blood witch, who has a ton of power, more power than the others posses. As she searches to find out why she comes across some secrets about herself and her family, that no one would ever want to learn.
