Kylie Hagan is a woman trying to do all the right things but, maybe for all the wrong reasons. She was an unwed mother at the age of 16. She and her 15 year-old daughter, Tiffany, have moved to Charlotte, South Carolina to start a new life. Kylie was given a good severance package from her former employer and decided to start a new life and career. Kylie’s world is centered on her daughter. So much so, that Tiffany is at the point where she needs her mom to get a life of her own.

Let me first say that this is my first Kimani Romance book. Also - probably obviously then - this is my first Brenda Jackson book as well. I was blown away. BLOWN. AWAY. I hadn't expected this book to be much different than any other romance book I'd ever read and I was wrong. It was different. So much different.
I loved how strong the heroine was, how smart and capable and she stuck to her guns - for a lot longer than I would have admittedly(especially with a man who was as sexy as Chance...) I...more

Chance Steele and Kyra Hagan are the parents of two teenagers who are madly in love. Of course the parents are very concerned about the seriousness of their relationship. That is it. No intrigue or stalkers in this novel. Pure love story in true Jackson style.

As fate would have it. These two have spent so much time controlling the lives of their children that they have neglected their own happiness. With a little urging and manipulation, the tables turn and they quickly realize what is missing f...more

Solid Soul by Brenda jackson
Tiffany Hagan and her friend Marcus Steele agree that their parents would make a great pair and would get them off their backs.
Problem is Mr. Steele has confronted Tiff's mother at the florist shop where she works telling her that she has to keep her daughter away from his son.
Quite the tale of how the kids attempt to get the parents to even talk, like one another while they go on with their relationship.

It was a good storyline. I liked how the kids played a part in getting their parents together. The mom was a little over the top, but if I were pregnant at 16, who knows how I would have felt about relationships. At least their relationship developed over weeks vs. 2 or 3 days as in other books, so it's a little bit more realistic. It's a good quick read.

A GREAT start to the Steel Series...UNFORTUNATELY...not realizing this was a series I actually read the second book in this series first, "Night Heat"....so I'm really glad I finally got to start at the beginning..."Solid Soul" is an ENGAGING...HUMOROUS...SEXY and sometimes serious story of love, romance and family issues....the cast of characters are UNFORGETTABLE...I enjoy Tiffany and Marcus and their all antics to get their parents together...Kylie and Chance share an instant and PASSIONATE a...more

This is the second novel I've read by Brenda Jackson. It was an okay read. Not as good as the first book I've read by her.

Two people in love! This was a nice re told version of the parent trap.
Livia
Enjoyed the intro into the Steele family. Chance and Kylie's story was cute and funny and at the same time emotionally uplifting. Meanwhile the meddling teens put on quite a show. Looking forward to reading the next installment to this series.

Kylie got a bit on my nerves with her overprotectiveness and being super secretive about her feelings for Chance, but I enjoyed the story.
