I would give it 10 stars if I could! The best one yet in the "Virgin River" series. That little "Wide Iwish Rose" stole my heart! Just when I think the characters and stories can't get any better, another comes along and replaces the last favorite. Enchanting, amazing, humbling, loving, caring, etc. etc. Lessons can be learned in each read. Is it March yet?? I'll be rereading "Angel's Peak" again soon - very soon. I didn't dislike this book, but I can't rate it as highly as the others. I loved Sean in Luke and Shelby's book. What a stinker he was ... in an adorable, diabolical way. And his love interest is extremely likable.

But nothing really happens. It all just kind of lays there. One of the things I like about this series is how real it feels. But, maybe this one is too real. Too close to the mundane.

And when things did happen, like with Maureen and George, it felt forced. Like Carr needed a second r

The series is going downhill fast. The characters are unlikeable (especially that dreadfully behaved little girl) and have nothing to do with Virgin River and all the original residents.

This one was really boring. I was disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. It's always so nice to read another Virgin River book and get back to favorite characters and places.

Series Note:
This book could possibly be read as a standalone, but there's a lot of character connections that might have you wanting to read other books. Plus this is a great series and I highly recommend reading it in order.

(July) 3.5* In my world, there are only a few excuses for a Mom not to tell her Baby Daddy she is pregnant: 1) he is a pedophile; 2) he is Jeffrey Dahmer (or any other type of abusive/violent psychopath); 3) he is an uber-rich cold hearted certified crazy who will take you to court to get full custody and never let you see the baby just to make you miserable; 4) baby is a product of a one night stand where you didn’t exchange names and you have absolutely no way to find the dad or 5) you live in ...more

This one had a great premise but it was WAY to TAME, not enough conflict.

This one has a lot of promise, but really fizzled out and read like a lifetime movie without the tears.

Disappointed when I compare it to a number of VR books. Even the sidebar romances were just as tame. Would have been a better Christmas novella.

These books are the perfect "getting into the holiday spirit" type of read. They have a quaint, almost Hallmark-movie type feel to them that leaves me feeling uplifted. That said, I don't think I'd have the patience to read them, as they're not as couple centered as I prefer in my romances. However, I've loved listening to them as I go about my day.

On the morning after their wedding, Ellie and Noah are overwhelmed to find many Virgin River residents working on the renovation of the house they just purchased. Ellie turns to Noah and says, "They're so wonderful. How can they be this wonderful?" To which Noah replies, "I think they practice."

Oh, wait! This was supposed to be the story of Sean and Franci, but that one didn't take long to tell and wasn't enough to hold my attention: Sean and Franci were a hot young couple, Franci wanted marriag
Angel's Peak is the 10th book in the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr. Sean Riordan is on leave, staying with his brother in Virgin River. One night he drives to a nearby town to find a bar and get a drink. While he is there Franci Duncan, an old girlfriend shows up. He reminisces about their time together and how much he regrets their breakup. So he tries to reconnect but Franci isn't going to make it easy. A large part of the plot of Angel's Peak centers around the secret baby theme, which is not a favorite of mine. I have a hard time accepting the idea of a woman running away to have a baby and never telling the father, because it seems so unfair to the guy. Unless the man is a tyrant or otherwise a danger to the woman and her child, I usually don't feel like she has a good reason to do this, so this is a romance theme I typically avoid. However, with this being a Virgin R
Fabulous book that rang my bells and whistles. Angel's Peak is set primarily in Eureka, California, but there are short events in Virgin River throughout the story. Previous characters have quick mentions--here and there--but most have no dialogue. Jack, Preacher, the General, Muriel, Dan Brady and a few others have short dialogues; while Noah and Ellie (earlier book) finalize "things," a new relationship develops between two consenting seniors, two new characters and their interracial romance i ...more

Blurb from back cover: "Four years ago, air force sweethearts Franci Duncan and Sean Riordan reached an impasse. She wanted marriage and a family. He didn't. But a chance meeting proves that the bitter breakup hasn't cooled their sizzling chemistry."

And sizzling it is! Definitely rings the bell on the "phew, is it hot in here or is it me" meter. When I finished Forbidden Falls, it was almost with sadness. I wanted it to go on and on. Well, now with the release of Angel's Peak Robyn Carr gives us

Angel’s Peak is the 9th book in the Virgin River series. Sean Riordan, brother to Luke Riordan, both of whom we were introduced to in the 6th novel Temptation Ridge, is on leave from his naval job flying U-2 spy planes. A career navy man, Sean is on the way to General – after his leave he will be reassigned and chances are once he completes that next mission successfully, he will be in line for promotion. He plans to retire with 3 or so stars down the track.

Another great book in this series. Sean Riordan broke up with Franci 4 years ago after she issued an ultimatum of get married or she walks. After about 6 months, he decided to look for her but couldn't find her since she had moved. He sees her while visiting his brother Luke. Then discovers he has a 3-1/2 year old daughter. Little Rosie made this book 5 stars. She was hilarious and Sean fell in love with her instantly. Then his next task was convincing her mother to give him another chance. Ther ...more
Sigh, the more I read this series the less excited I get. Don't get me wrong I loved Sean and Robyn Carr sure knows how to write an ADORABLE child but I just felt like I was passing the time reading this book. I like to get swept up and excited and way too involved for my own good, and this book didn't provide that.

It started to set the scene for Aiden Riordan ... but as excited as I am to hear Aiden's story, the book does come out around the same time as Delicious by Shayla Black and I can har

5 stars – Contemporary Romance

I'm behind on writing reviews, so I'll just keep it brief and say that this is another wonderful addition to Carr's magical Virgin River contemporary romance series. I was a little concerned in the beginning because Sean's cocky attitude annoyed me, but of course, it didn't take long before he completely won me over. The men of Virgin River are all deliciously sexy, swoon-worthy, and totally to die for heroes! This series is like my favorite coffee...essential and I

Always enjoy this series, not a bad book in the bunch so far. Sean was a great charater, so was Franci. I look forward to getting to know them even more as the series progresses. This one was a little different for me, had a great story line going with all my favorite characters of the series so far. Would like to spend some time getting to know all the Roirdans boys myself.

Really enjoyed the first half. I found the second one pretty boring though. I'm glad all ended well for Sean, Franci and Rosie, they sure deserved it. I loved reading about Noah and Ellie again (the wedding night scene just cracked me up ;-). Looking forward reading Aiden's story.

Virgin River, by book 10, is a familiar place and home to dozens of warm characters. It's a great place to visit every once in a while.
On vacation from his pilot's job with the Air Force, Sean Riordan, watching his newlywed brother, Luke and his new sister-in-law Shelby (Paradise Valley) share their blissful love realizes he may very well have let THE ONE get away. A chance meeting with Francine Duncan confirms it. The acrimonious break-up years ago left the couple with unresolved issues and secrets between them.

Now that the 'thoughtless twenties' have passed Sean realizes he's ready for the usual familial responsibilities to a

This is my first Robyn Carr book.
It mentioned a lot of characters from the previous books of the series that sometimes, you might just get lost/confused.

It was quite boring. The whole time thst i was reading it, i was wishing that i could finish the book already so that i can move on with another book.

Half of the book were stories from either a continuation of a previous characters' story (more like an epilogue for her past books in this series); or a new sub-plot for new character pairings. T

Angel’s Peak, another in Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series is proof that the books keep getting better and better. This is the story of hotshot U-2 pilot Sean Riordan and Franci Duncan. Together as a couple for two years, Franci wanted marriage and children; Sean felt they were committed, but he didn’t want the ring or the rug rats. The romance ended badly with things said that finished the relationship. What wasn’t said, on Franci’s part, is that she was pregnant. Feeling Sean wasn’t committed, ...more

Unfortunately, I didn’t like the main characters in this book, and I hated the premise, so this one was never going to get a high rating from me. Then, to have Sean end up blaming himself for the unforgivable thing that Franci did was the final insult. Lucky for me, I still enjoyed Carr’s writing and visiting with old friends from previous books in the series.

In fact, there were parts of this one that I really quite enjoyed – seeing Noah and Ellie’s relationship and circumstances progr

Picked this up a few days ago at a book sale and I'm really glad I didn't pay full price for it. I didn't like the heroine at all. Bad judgment should have been her middle name. I'll be sending this book to the nearest Salvation Army store asap. Maybe someone else will want to read it.
