Fairholm examines a progression of leadership models, beginning with leadership as management, moving forward to include the topics of leadership as excellent management, values-based leadership, trust leadership, and ultimately highlighting and emphasizing the importance of spiritual leadership. In his examination of each of these models, he points out both the positive aspects of each, as well as their shortcomings.
