Not his best or most memorable, but still a great read for kids.

Roald Dahl's most famous novel is also one of his most memorable- there aren't many people who have read this that couldn't recite most of the plot points verbatim.

On the surface this is a sweet story, but teaches kids deceit in order to win people over. Maybe it shouldn't be given to kids until they can learn right from wrong and understand that this is just a story.

Roald Dahls' are well written but I found them a little dark and creepy. His books are generally crude and the language is sometimes offensive.

I recommend this book only for very mature children - with parental involvement - or for adults. Young people like his stories because they are slightly inappropriate.
