A quick read from a noted expert on gifted education . . . its focused on project-based inquiry for kids. I found the tips for talking to your kids to help them define and refine their interests and learning styles helpful. Getting this from the library was worth it just for the collection of "in print" and "on line" mentor ideas - great collection of web resources for everything from cell biology to Ancient Rome.
Renzulli clearly believes that all children can be gifted, given the right direction from an adult. As a teacher myself, I completely agree with him. Each child is gifted with a unique talent/skill/ability and it is our job to help him or her find it.
My only issue with the book is the focus on career/jobs. Sometimes, we have special gifts that may not be expressed through our careers but rather through a hobby...
