काफी हद तक 'गुनाहों का देवता' और 'सूरज का सातवाँ घोड़ा' में समानता है। गुनाहों का देवता का चंदर सूरज का सातवाँ घोड़ा में माणिक है, सुधा लिली है, पम्मी सत्ती है, और बिनती जमुना है। कथानक उतना अच्छा नहीं बन पाया जितना अच्छा गुनाहों का देवता मे था।
