"I know I'm a princess. I don't have to prove it to the world."

3 stars for the sake of there being a brown princess that gets to wear something besides kente cloth. Little girls don't want to see that. They want pink and frilly. Trust me, I've tried to smile and hand many, many girls books with princesses in traditional African garb on the cover and they give me the, "Are you stupid, or what?" look. Now they can rejoice for Disney has answered their prayers.

Aside from the fact that it's a movie spin-off book in the first place, this book actually managed to get through almost cringe-free. If it has to be a Disney princess book, at least it has useful messages.

Princess Tiana is getting help from her best friend, Princess Charlotte, on what she should do for the big ball. Things are confusing, until Princess Tiana pulls out her Princess Handbook! A good princess story with lovely art.
