Tim Burton has reinvented Hollywood genre filmmaking over the past three decades. With a visual style inspired by the aesthetics of animation and silent comedy, Burton's work melds the exotic, the horrific and the comic, manipulating expressionism and fantasy with the skill of a graphic novelist. There's news that Tim Burton's coming up with an art book called The Art of Tim Burton. It's going to have 434 pages and should be released soon or early next month. This is not that book.
This book simply titled Tim Burton is an exhibition promotion book. It's published by The Museum of Modern Art to accompany the Tim Burton exhibition that's running on 22 Nov 2009 to 26 April 2010. The exhibition is going to have over 500 pieces of art created by Tim Burton him...more
Great exhibition review presentation. I didn't get to this show at the MOMA but my brother did and brought this book home. It is great to see pop culture influenced so much by art, and vice versa.

No where near as good and extensive as the The Art of Tim Burton. It's more like a teaser trailer to the big feature presentation.
Good, but not good enough.
It does whet one's appetite for Tim Burton's works, particularly and especially those from the Tim Burton exhibition.

Tim Burton has always been a big inspiration for me. It was fascinating seeing all of his "doodles" from over the years - even from his childhood! It has actually inspired me. I hope to learn to draw my own characters and ideas.
