Gilroy is excited that his Grandpa is going to watch him while his parents go on vacation until he finds out that Grandpa has a different idea of what good food is. He gets a surprise at every mealtime and refuses to eat any of it. In the end, they both realize that it is good to try new things and they might end up liking it after all.

Gilroy Tanaka is excited to have Grandpa stay with him while Mom and Dad are away. Poor Gilroy's excitement turns to dismay when Grandpa serves octopus for dinner and squid-kabobs for lunch. When Grandpa shows up to school with more unusual snacks to share with the whole class, Gilroy must take matters into his own hands. See how Gilroy solves his dilemma in a way that satisfies him and Grandpa.
I enjoyed reading this book to my grandkids! They enjoyed it too!
