I tend to rate books simply on how much I enjoy reading them and how much enrichment I take with me. This short, easy to read book is a slam dunk on both counts. The topic, while specifically related to volleyball, can be easily applied to any situation in which a group of people need be molded into a "team" (i.e. a music ensemble such as a band). I especially enjoy the way Pettit draws on sources, ideas, and methods outside of the "jock" world to teach concepts. These concepts are adaptable in ...more
