I bought this book after reading the praise for this and its successor in a highly contesting review of Paul Kelly's new book in the Monthlymy link text. Previously the only thing I had read about Australian political history were books about the Whitlam coup and his life after it, Abiding Interests or the diaries of a short term Labour leaderThe Latham Diaries.
