Wild Fire is the fourth installment of the Leopard People series. I’m not going to go into the basic plot, you can get that information from the cover blurb, but what I will say is that I’m always impressed by how well Christine Feehan writes emotions; angst, regret, betrayal, guilt, sorrow, joy, passion, love. You name it and she makes you feel it which is one of the things I find most appealing about her stories – the ability to connect on a personal level with the characters.

Another thing I l...more

This tale revolves around a woman cruelly betrayed by her lover, and a man hopeless in his need for redemption. It is fascinating because he happens to be the conniving betrayer who actually loves her and needs her to forgive him, as well as needing to forgive himself. In addition, her true nature causes another man to believe he has the right to her love. I never thought that I would enjoy reading a description of two men physically fighting to the death over a woman, nor that I would root for...more

I liked this book as I do generally like anything by Feehan...However wish I would have re read the first three in this series again because I was having a hard time placing the supporting cast which just annoyed as I was reading this one

I have been pleasantly surprised by Christine Feehan's Leopard series. Now that I have read each installment that has been published so far, I don't know what took me so long to jump on board! I love Feehan's other series': the Carpathian, Ghost Walkers, and Sea Haven series', and the novels about the leopard-people are every bit as good.

Wild Fire is an exciting and interesting read. Despite being noticeably darker and with some difficult (and at times, down-right ugly) subject-matter, I fell in...more

Pretty good book and i'm beginning to think that the Leopard Series may just be better than Feehan's
Carpathian Series . After 21 books, the plot is progressing slowly and interestingly but the love formula's gone stale with the Carpathian couples. Wild Fire was a bit different in that it started with Connor having betrayed his mate by seducing her on a mission and not sharing the matey news with her.

His team is now on a new mission rescuing leopard hostages in the jungles of Panama and there's...more

I would have rated this one higher, but I found through 2/3 of the book I didn't care for Isabeau, she seemed really whiny to me. Granted she did have a right to be angry with Conner, but he shouldn't have been the only one to get her anger. It also seemed very unreasonable that Iasbeau seemed to fall in line with the whole leopard mate thing pretty fast. The bad guys were pretty horrific in this one, people were disposable to them and just evil to their core. What I did really like about this b...more

Connor Vega had committed a most horrible crime. He unknowingly used his mate to gain access to her father and the evil men he worked for. He gave her a false identity, seduced away her innocents and gained her trust to take down criminals including her father. Connor realized to late the the woman he was using was is life mate and by the time he went to confront her father it was to late. Her father had tried to kill Connor and was shot by Connor's friend Reo and killed in front of Isabeau. Dev...more

I'm finding that Feehan is unlike any author I have read so far in the paranormal romance genre. Everything with her writing is extremely intense. The romance, the sex, and the violence. I actually love how the romance builds, although it's getting predictable. Four lead women go through the Han Vol Dan and that's how the men win them over, through sex. The sex, steamy outs it mildly. Whereas other authors will have two to three scenes that last a couple of pages, Feehan has at least four that c...more

This is definitely one of the best Feehan books I read. I mean who doesn't dream of a man who can coax out your inner cat. Clenching wombs and spasming muscles...how do she make climbina a tree sexy as hell?!! I don't know, but damn!! Hot Hot!! Hot!! Christine captured the look, smell and feel of sensuality that left me panting.

I read books for escapism and sheer fantasy. I love Alpha male romance novels. I love the emotional detail and how Conner and Isabeau come to terms with their past. Chri...more

This is the fourth book in the leopard people series.

This review contains spoilers!

Within the series, I didn’t feel this book lived up to the strength of the other books. But, as a standalone it was a great read and I would recommend it, to any fans of Christine Feehan or shape shifter fans.
Conner Vega on his last assignment found and betrayed his mate Isabeau Chandler, getting her father killed. After spending a year in America with Drake, he’s come back to the Panama rainforest hoping to live...more

Loved this one sooooo much better then her other series' most recent entry. I detested the*hero* in STREET GAME and while I got this book the day it came out, I was hesitent to read it. I was very pleasently surprised tho. Altho the hero in this story is a he-man type, he felt geniune reget for his treatment of Isabeau*btw,WORST name possible..lol reminds me of Rachael Rays dog's name* I liked almost all of this book, except I kinda wanted to know more about Otilla's obsesion for the heroine. Who Needs A Snuggie When You Have a Hot Alpha Cat to Keep You Warm

Mating is a higher law and there’s no getting around it. You can’t pretend it away. This is between us, no one else. We’ll work it out.” Conner.

She blinked rapidly to stop the burning tears. Damn him. He’d destroyed her.

Normally I wouldn’t put cats in the alpha hotness category, but Feehan does a nice job of mixing the sensuality and grace the leopard species melded with a healthy dose of possessive uber-mal...more

I liked this newest edition in the Leopard People series. We got a little more background on the ways of the Leopard People, got a little view of past characters and a great adventure along the way. I still think that her shifter series is a bit different than other books I've read, and that makes it even more interesting to read about.

A really nice addition to the Leopard People series. I was so happy when I found out Phil Gigante was the narrator. If you've read any of my other reviews you'll know that I LOVE Phil Gigante's voice and narration style. He made Connor sound sooooo damn sexy. I wish he narrated all the books in the series but alas I can't always have my way...lol.

I liked that we got to spend more time with past characters. I had a hard time visualizing the heroine, I found her to be a bit irratating at times. Ph...more

To tell the truth even though I had read the other 3 Leopard stories and thought they were "okay" I wasn't going to read this one. Then I read Danielle's review of the book and decided what the heck. I LOVED IT. So much emotion and strife and the bad guys were REALLY bad. I guess the series grew on me :D

This was by far, Christine Feehan's best book yet in the Leopard series. The story grabbed your attention from the beginning and never let go. It showed, in vivid detail, the ugly and depraved side of humanity. It also showed the best of humanity; honor, loyalty, kindness and hope. And there were a few surprises along the way. The hero and heroine were perfect for each other and I found myself cheering for them from the beginning. A few of the characters from previous books play an important rol...more

Another page turner for sure! As usual per this series, very dark and sensual.

This story sizzles with intrigue, danger and hot chemistry. The main characters , Conner and Isabeau have a shared past. Can Isabeau get over Conner's betrayal and see the honorable man and beast?
She has called him to help rescue innocents from ones who are truly evil. The villains in this book are the worst sort, they thrive on human misery and stop at nothing to make a profit. Yes, they definitely need to come up ag...more

This was my first Christine Feehan ever, and it was such a thrilling ride that I have added to read the rest of this series among some of her other work. Feehan makes living in the Amazon not only action packed but also sexy.

Leopard shifter Conner Vega is a leopard shifter who is part of a special group that just happens to eliminate all threats to the rain forest. On this mission Conner ends up re-meeting his mate, Isabeau Chandler. Although this isn't the first time the two have come face to...more

Unfortunately I have read this totally out of sequence, and although I have read the first introductory story in an anthology, I have really enjoyed these leopard people and their adventures. I am sure that eventually, they will grow a bit tired, but for now I have bene enjoying the jungle adventures. Christine Feehan brings the rainforest indoors to the reader, and the sights, smells and tropical atmosphere is well described, and her very male shifters are rather noble but distinctly not your s...more

I gave this book 150 pages of my time and finally gave up - I cannot stand sappy, weak, eyelash fluttering women - she's supposed to be a leopard for crying out loud...give her some sass! If you want to read a supernatural romance that's actually WELL written and not senseless drivel I suggest trying Karen Chance, Keri Arthur, Charlaine Harris, Yasmine Galenorn or Laurell K. Hamilton - you'll actually WANT to read it and will actually ENJOY the characters who are well developed and more realisti...more

I really enjoyed this book by Christine Feehan. I haven't been a fan of some of her other books (the Carpathian vampire series) but this Leopard shifter book caught my attention. I want to go back and read the first 3 books.

Sharp storytelling, and very detailed descriptions of the rain forest, I really enjoyed this book.

p.s. I hate the guy on the 2 ocver pages. On the front he looks drugged not wild and sexy. And the inside cover page he just looks goofy. Where do they get these guys? Or who is...more

I read this book years ago and I couldn't remember why I disliked it. I decided to give it another try before the release of Leopards Prey. This is the most disgusting, disturbing book I have read.I usually avoid books about rape and abuse to women. The abuse inflicted on the Isabeau the female lead in this story is hideous. She was beaten repeatedly, clawed and raked, and bitten with fangs. Isabeau was horribly abused on her wedding day. What is wrong with you Christine Feehan?? It was Isabeau'...more

One of the previous books in this series, Burning Wild, is still the one and only Feehan book I've genuinely loved. Naturally, I wanted to read more in this series of people who shape-shift into leopards, but Wild Fire was a huge disappointment - not a surprising one, though, as it's just like all her other books. Plot holes galore, lengthy tangents into the characters' feelings (especially right in the middle of some dire situation), and a cookie-cutter heroine.

This one is set in Panema, South...more
