She's No Angel

A bodyguard? Why in the world would a demon need a bodyguard? Yes, it's true Ellina Kostova is only half demon...and an author with a cult following, but that just means strange stuff happens. She isn't in real danger. Heck, she's in more danger from Jude Anthony, the guy her brother has hired to protect her. In big danger, actually. Because she just cannot b

This is in my "Smut-stories-with-bad-no-plot" shelf. Up until the very Very end, I would have thought this book was destined for the "smut-stories-with-good-plot" shelf.

This is my first Kathy Love book so I can't compare it to her other works, but I loved her characters! And the smut wasn't abrupt. Rather there was build up, and it felt real! (Which is probably why I'm reviewing. I have to justify to myself why its only 3 stars...I realllly wanted to love this book!!) It had some 'lust
I have to say that I agree with some of the others that have reviewed this book. It was wonderful and the love connection was the most realistic of any of Love's books that I have read.

However...there is this HUGE build up through out the book (actually it starts in Maksim and Jo's even bigger build up!) and then it just sort of FREAKING ENDS! Like thoughts were " he's just umm..everyone is just perfectly okay now???" It literally went from this ragingly awesome rom
I almost really loved this one. It's #4 in the series but I didn't feel that I was missing anything by not reading the first three books.
The characters are fun, Ellina is a half demon recluse and Jude is hired by her brother as her bodyguard. There is good chemistry between the two and it was fun to watch their relationship grow.
The plot was fine and I would not have a problem with it except for the ending. It was like the author had a page cap and didn't realize it until she was 5 pages from

I haven't read anything in this series for a long time so I have a little none at all recollection of the plot and characters. So while reading I tried and failed to remember the previous books.

Ellina is a fictional writer. She is also half demon and half human. Being a writer helps her get out her frustration of members in her family, who are all full demons, looking down on her because of that. Especially her demon father. Her books are quite successful. But there is one problem. Now someon
Cute and sexy? Yes. Masterful plotting? Not so much.

What a Demon Loves is book four in Love's saga of New Orleans’ supernaturals finding love. And here we get the first supe/supe pairing. The leading lady this time is authoress Ellina (Maksim's sister from Demon Can't Help It), a reclusive half demon half human crossbreed who maintains calm and control at all times because any type of excitement, including arousal, makes her literally 'horny'. You can imagine the crimp that's put in Ellina's lo

Ellina looks like an angel, but when she gets turned on, she's a horny demon.....literally. That's right, in certain situations, Ellina transforms and she has no control over the process. Because of this Ellina has become somewhat of a recluse. When she fails to acknowledge that she's in real danger after several break-ins, her brother hires a half vampire/ half werewolf bodyguard. Jude feels the electricity between himself and Ellina from the start, but feels he must stay on the job despite his ...more

This was a fun, quick read. Maksim's sister Ellina Kostova (1/2 demon) has had her home broken into a few times, so he hires a bodyguard to protect her. A reclusive author, Ellina does not want a stranger in her house! She doesn't think she needs a bodyguard... especially one who is as attractive as he is... since she has a physical problem when she gets horny.

Jude has worked all kinds of jobs in his long existence working for the paranormal. When he meets Ellina - the instant attraction he fee
Ellina Kostova is a well known author who writes about a Demon hunter...and she herself is half demon. So when she writes spells and description, she tends to write the truth. Some one wants Ellina dead...mysterious break ins at her home, placing her in a cat for 6 months, everything to stop her next WIP (that's work in progress(see I do listen)). Is it one of her family? Her father who can't accept her? Her twin brothers, who are pure demons, or a fan that just wants to see what she can really ...more
I usually enjoy a book by Kathy Love; a quick romantic supernatural read for a weekend. This one fit the quick and romantic, but somehow fell short in the enjoyment department. After finishing, I think I've been able to pinpoint the problem - not enough danger (and honestly, not a very good plot, either).

In any Love book, there's the meeting between the two romantic leads, the growing attraction that both leads try to fight, and a threat to the female that causes the male to go beyond his typica
...and I would have gotten away with it if wasn't for you damn kids!

Yeah, I've read all of Kathy Love's books and while they aren't life changing, they are generally pretty good. This book was heading in that direction too, I was enjoying it. I had figured out who the Big Bad was, but not the motivation. Suddenly I realized that I was 10 pages from the end and the Big Bad Story line hadn't even begin to play out... Which is probably why it felt slapped on.

Ellina Kostova is a half demon fiction
Ellina Kostova is a reclusive writer who is half demon/half human. After her house has been broken into several times, her brother Maksim insists on hiring a bodyguard to protect her. Jude Anthony is a half vampire/half werewolf who is all bad-ass when it comes to his job as a bodyguard, but he’s also a great cook as well. I liked the characters and the premise of the story, despite a few things that popped up during the course of the story – like how did Jude become a vampire and a werewolf? He ...more

Recommends it for: Fans of very light paranormal romance - fluff over substance
Reclusive author and demon half-breed Ellina Kostova has been beset by bad luck. Her home has been broken into three times in the past three months, books and research have gone missing, she's received weird phone calls, was almost run over by a car, and got stuck in a cat for several months. But really, besides that cat thing, which personally she blames on her trickster demon brothers, the rest can be written off as consequences of being a famous author and living in New Orleans. Her overprote ...more

Reading this book was really up there on my to read list as I've read all her vampire/demon books that came before this one. So...finally I've read it and Love didn't disappoint.

Ellina is a little...on the ignore real life and stay in my fiction world, but the situations that are happening to her pull her out of it. Along with Jude. Jude yanked her right out and brought to her attention the danger she was in which I was happy about because the way she tried to ignore it was irritating. I mean h

What A Demon Wants is the fourth book in Love’s series about perternaturals (aka paranormals). This story centers around Ellina, who we met in the last installment as she is Maksim’s baby sister.

Ellina has become accustomed to living on her own. Being half demon doesn’t afford her the luxury of being around crowds. People tend to freak out over red scales, tails and horns…unless it’s Halloween. Being an author affords her a suitable cover for wanting to be alone.

Now she has what appears to be a

I think I'm pretty annoyed with this one. The entire beginning and more than halfway through the book it was just Jude and Ellina fighting their attraction to one another but after the first fifteen pages of that it was like beating a dead horse.

I did enjoy the story and the plot line but the ending left much to be desired. The confrontation at the end was barely that. It wasn't very dramatic. There was no suspense and it fell flat. I did like the supporting characters and thought they were well
What is a girl to do when it seems like someone is out to get you but you don't want to believe it, well you ignore it until your brother, afraid for you, hires you a bodyguard, Jude. This is the story of Ellina's life. She really doesn't want this guy around especially as he seems to hit all her buttons which causes all sorts of interesting side effects. Ellina, along with Jude fight their attraction to each other, however being as their relationship is that, that needs close proximity is gets ...more
4th in the series New Orleans Vampires, Ellina Kostova is sister to Maksim from book #3. Ellina is a book author with a cult following, half demon, has a stalker, and has had concerning occurances happen to her several break ins at her house, being turned into a cat, and almost run down by a car. Protective brther has hired a bodyguard for her protection so he can focus on the impending birth of his child with Jo. For a good time, read Kathy Love. This is a light and frothy paranormal romance and it hits the spot if you are looking for a quick, easy read. Love is always dependable when you are looking for that. Ellina has a lot of issues and when her brother decides she needs a bodyguard since she has a stalker. The bodyguard turns out to be her match made in hell. Of course they are not made for each other, but when Jude realizes that the half demon is perfect for him, nothing will get in his way. Cute story, fun antics, but abrupt ending
i liked it but think reading the books before might make more sense. Ellina has house broken in few times and all her books and notes messed up. Her brother hires Jude as a body guard for her. Ellina dosen"t believe she needs one but sister-in-law goes into labor so she agrees. Ellina is half demon half human. Jude is half vampire half werewolf. Ellina is a fantasy writer using real spells and about real demons. does not need all the sex in the story.
This was a wonderful free read! It was a quick read and so very cute. It was a wonderfully written story that kept my attention and my interest from page one. I really enjoyed it. It is less than 300 pages ... there is an insert for her next book at the end. I'm not sure I would pay over $5 to read any of these books either, just because this one is so short and really does not have that much depth to it.
This book was ok. I am not a huge fan of romance and there was just to much of that in this book.
I also felt the story line did not flow well, and the mystery part was just a sideline to the romance. The person stalking Ellina did not get much play time and the other characters seem to be just an afterthought.
Its a good book overall but I prefer more mystery and paranormal stuff rather than romance.
Prelim Review: Considering I spent quite a few months eagerly wanting to read this book--even though I haven't read anything else by Kathy Love--this was less engaging and interesting then I thought it would be. The ending in specific kind of made my eye twitch because it was very...anti-climatic.

I felt the book was a bit rushed near the end and maybe prolong in certain areas of the book. I wanted to know more about Ellina's family. It just leaves a small sort of information about her but overall its a good book. I only gave it 3 stars because it really didn't capture me and it missed an element that I wanted to see in the book.

Mrs. Love presented a romance novel with a demon/ pernatural twist. Though I was in no way in the market for a romance novel it was interesting enough to keep me reading. I like the way her pernatural charachters have differing abilities and her demon charachters show obvious flaws and vulnerabilites.
A very light read that did not keep me interested in the love story or the "mystery" (easy to detect) surrounding it. The world building was non existent (probably because it's the fourth in a series. But I read it as a stand alone).
I found the love weak and the characters mono dimensional.
Cute little romance involving demons and vampires, but we never did learn alot about the H and the ending was waaaay rushed. Quite a few details were left hanging. But it was a freebie from Amazon and I got some entertainment, laughter and smexy time so it wasn't all bad. :) **3 stars**
